View of life 📹 + quote of the day: Move with intention 💯
- my name is Alexsoy, I am what I like to call an Artist Engineer.. a hybrid of an artist and and audio engineer. The heart of an artist but the mind of an engineer. The best of both worlds. I started Audio Engineering to develop my own sounds. With the help of .john.. we create the “Love in Spanish” series. Which delivers a very unique sound based on our cultural backgrounds and different set of skills.
I am now entering a new chapter of my journey, where have hyper focused on Audio Engineer, so I can deliver the highest quality I possibly can. Welcome to the Artist Engineer part of my journey 🌐
I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to record at CRAS. It might sound simple, but it means a lot to me.
I stepped into this field about 10+ years ago not realizing it would slowly take over my entire life. What started as curiosity turned into obsession, then into purpose. The journey hasn’t been easy….It’s been long, challenging, humbling…
but it’s also been incredibly rewarding.
Being here now, I can actually feel myself developing. Not just as an engineer, not just as an artist, but as a creator who understands his voice and his vision more clearly than ever.
There were moments I questioned the path. Moments I wondered if I was forcing something that wasn’t meant for me.
But now?
The path feels intentional.
It feels meaningful.
It feels aligned.
And that feeling alone makes every late night worth it. 🎙️🎛️

With Intent. 🇻🇪
Cycle 4, week 3… aka hell week.
Learning the API Legacy Plus signal flow by memory.
At the start of Cycle 4 I thought, “okay, this won’t be too crazy.” Now that week 3 is about to start, I see how much we actually have to remember. Not just the API Legacy Plus inside and out, but the MP100 final over all four cycles… and the CT sync test on top of that. And that sync stuff? That’s real-life studio work. That’s not just school — that’s what engineers actually use.
The API Legacy Plus is serious. Here are 10 real facts about it:
1. It’s built around API’s classic 2520 op-amps, which is a big reason it has that punchy, in-your-face sound.
2. It uses fully discrete analog circuitry — no shortcuts, just real components.
3. The EQ is the classic API style with proportional Q, so the more you boost or cut, the tighter it gets.
4. The mic preamps have a lot of headroom, so you can push them and get color without it getting ugly.
5. It’s an inline console, which means each channel has a large fader path and a monitor (small fader) path in the same strip.
6. You can flip the signal between the large and small faders, which is huge for tracking and mixing.
7. Each channel has inserts, so you can patch in outboard gear directly into the signal path.
8. The console has multiple aux sends for headphones, effects, or outboard routing.
9. The bus section is powerful and clean — especially for drums and rock sessions.
10. It’s fully modular, so each channel strip can be removed and serviced individually.
They call this hell week because you can’t guess your way through API signal flow. You have to know exactly where the audio is going — from mic pre, to EQ, to insert, to fader, to bus.
It felt simple at first. Now I realize it’s about retention. But once this locks in? Whole different level.

Qué viva Venezuela, mi patria querida…….. 🇻🇪
