Turns out, square footage was never the measure of a beautiful life. đŸ©”

Sometimes making room for more starts with letting go of a little. đŸ©”

A few days ago we had a reel blow up (4 million views and counting đŸ€Ż) and a number of people commented they couldn't see the home. We heard you and we're here to show you the space!!

If you're looking to learn the joy in downsizing, and how smaller homes can lead to bigger lives, please give us a followđŸ“Č

You’re allowed to love the home you built AND be ready for something different.

Maybe it held birthday parties, holidays, teenagers, dogs, decades of memories and a whole lot of life.
None of that becomes less meaningful because your needs have changed.

Downsizing doesn’t have to mean “I don’t want this life anymore.”
Sometimes it simply means "I’m ready to decide what I want the next part of my life to look like.”

You don't have to make that decision today.
But if you've started thinking about it lately
you're certainly not the only one.

A smaller home doesn’t have to mean a smaller life. Quite the opposite. đŸ©”

Less to maintain. Less to manage. Less space dedicated to things you no longer need and more time, energy and freedom for the things you actually want to do.

And no, this is not us telling you that you need to downsize tomorrow.

Maybe you’re ready now. Maybe you’re simply starting to wonder what less could look like. Maybe the idea still feels years away.

There’s no perfect timeline.

But when you’re ready to start asking the questions, making the decisions and imagining what your next space could look like, we’re here to help.

Downsizing gets a whole lot easier when you stop looking at it as a list of things you have to give up.

The goal isn’t to fit as much of your old life as possible into a smaller space. It’s to choose what deserves a place in the life you’re creating now.

What do you love?
What do you use?
What makes your new space feel like you?

Start there.

And remember: downsizing doesn’t mean you have to become a minimalist. Sometimes the bird stays. 😂

Sometimes the best way to help your parents downsize is to just be their kid.

Be there. Listen. Support them. Help when they ask.

But when it comes to deciding what stays, what goes, and why Mom really doesn’t need to keep three sets of china
sometimes a caring third party is exactly what everyone needs. 😏

Downsizing can bring up memories, emotions and family dynamics that have been building for decades. A professional can ask the tough questions, keep decisions moving and provide objective guidance without turning Sunday dinner into a debate about Grandma’s china.

Support your parents through the process. Let someone else be the "bad guy" when necessary. 😂

Great-great-grandma brought it over on the Mayflower. You still don’t have to keep it. 😂

Family history can matter without every family heirloom becoming your responsibility forever.

If you love it, keep it.
If you use it, keep it.
But if the only reason it’s still in your house is guilt, obligation, or “but it’s been in the family forever
”, you’re allowed to make a different decision.

As Katherine so delicately put it:

“She’s in a better place
and so should that china cabinet be.” 😂

To be fair, we all have one category where suddenly everything feels essential. Especially when it comes to downsizing!

What’s yours? 👀

Getting rid of it is easy. Figuring out WHERE it should go? That’s where people get stuck.

Sell it. Donate it. Give it to someone who actually wants it. Recycle or dispose of it responsibly.

And sometimes? Give yourself permission to admit that it’s just junk. 😬

Not everything needs the perfect second home before you're allowed to let it go.

Downsizing gets a whole lot easier when every item doesn't require a complicated goodbye.
