Houston's humidity is taking a much-needed vacation. Unfortunately, it's a round-trip ticket. 🌤️➡️🥵

Polo has grown into one of the most powerful Pacific cyclones in decades off the coast of Mexico, with a rapid intensification attributed to the warmer waters and wind patterns of El Niño.

A high of 90 never looked so good 😅

🌧 Scattered downpours are passing through Houston and will be fading from southeast Texas from 3PM-6PM.

This tropical air is immediately followed tomorrow by a dose of drier air and lower humidity just in time for Friday Night Lights 🏈

That's right, no matter how hot it is today, 100 days from now it will be Christmas.

Normally we get our first low in the 40s in October, our first low in the 30s in November, and our first freeze in December.

We’ll see another active week of scattered downpours and storms. Our highest chance for rain will arrive on Thursday as deeper tropical moistures surges in from the eastern Gulf. Later in the week, we should get a nice break in the humidity!

September 10th is the statistical peak of the Atlantic hurricane season, but there's nothing brewing right now and we haven't had a hurricane so far this year. High wind shear in the Atlantic and the Caribbean is keeping tropical waves from developing. The Gulf doesn't have much wind shear right now so we need to keep an eye on it.
