It’s a little big on him.

The confidence, however, fits perfectly.

I am profoundly grateful to President Trump for his confidence in me and for the extraordinary honor of being selected to represent the United States of America as Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

President Trump understands that American strength is the foundation of American peace.

His leadership has reshaped the Middle East, demanded more from our partners, stood firmly with our allies, and restored the understanding that when America speaks, the world should listen.

I have believed in President Trump and his America First vision from the beginning, and I am deeply humbled that he has entrusted me with the responsibility of advancing that vision in one of the most strategically important relationships in the world.

As a soldier, I served our country in the Middle East. Now, President Trump has called on me to serve there once again, this time as a diplomat.

I know the region.

I know what is at stake.

And I know the enormous opportunity before us.

Under President Trump’s leadership, we have a historic opportunity to deepen the U.S. Saudi partnership, strengthen American security, advance our economic and energy interests, confront our common adversaries, and build a more peaceful and prosperous Middle East through American strength.

Mr. President, thank you for your trust, your leadership, and the opportunity to serve this country once again.

America is worth fighting for.

And it will be the honor of a lifetime to carry the President’s America First agenda to Riyadh.

God bless President Trump, God bless our men and women serving around the world, and God bless the United States of America.

My family has spent more than six decades wearing the uniform of this country.

My siblings and I graduated from West Point, served in combat, and at one point all three of us were deployed to Iraq at the same time.

I flew Apache helicopters over the skies of Baghdad. I later spent two years in Saudi Arabia serving as a diplomatic liaison officer. Every chapter of my life has reinforced the same conviction: America is worth fighting for.

Now, I have been called to serve our country once again.

Thank you President Trump for the honor. 🇺🇸

It is the honor of a lifetime to accept President Trump’s nomination to serve as the next United States Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Having served in the region both in combat as an Army officer and for two years as a diplomatic liaison in the Kingdom, I understand the strategic importance of the partnership between the United States and Saudi Arabia and the profound responsibility of this position.

Service has always defined my life.

My immediate family has given more than sixty years to our military.

My brother, sister, and I graduated from West Point, served in combat, and, at one point, were all deployed to Iraq simultaneously.

I am deeply grateful to President Trump for his confidence in me. When confirmed, I will serve with humility and honor, advance his vision of peace through strength and deepen this vital partnership.

GAMEDAY. 🇺🇸

They didn’t die for Black America.
They didn’t die for White America.
They didn’t die for one race, one class, or one political party.

They died for AMERICA. 🇺🇸

Fourteen of my classmates I went to West Point with never came home from the Global War on Terror.

They gave their last full measure of devotion so the rest of us could continue living beneath the flag they loved.

That sacrifice demands something from us.

It demands that we remember who we are. That we thank God for the blessings of this nation. That we raise another generation of Americans who understand that freedom is not inherited automatically, it is preserved by men and women willing to defend it.

America is worth fighting for. 🇺🇸

Twenty-five years ago…
America changed forever.

On September 11, 2001, I was a cadet at West Point, watching our nation come under attack in real time.

We knew almost immediately that the world we had prepared to serve in had changed, and that many of us would soon be called to war.

For my generation of West Pointers, the oath suddenly carried a different weight.

In the years that followed, I would find myself in the Middle East, flying an Apache over the skies of Baghdad on 55 combat air missions.

I served alongside extraordinary Americans who willingly placed themselves in harm’s way because our country had called.

But before we answered that call, others answered theirs.

Firefighters climbed those towers while others were desperately trying to escape.

NYPD officers and first responders ran toward unimaginable danger.

Thousands of innocent Americans went to work, boarded airplanes, kissed their families goodbye, and never came home.

And aboard Flight 93, ordinary Americans confronted extraordinary evil.

Knowing what was at stake, passengers and crew fought back. Their final act of courage almost certainly saved countless lives on the ground. Their words still echo through history:

“Let’s roll.”

September 11 is not only a story of what was done to America.

It is a story of how Americans responded.

With courage.
With sacrifice.
With faith.
With an unshakable determination to defend one another and the country we love.

Today, I remember the nearly 3,000 innocent lives taken from us. I honor the firefighters, police officers, first responders, passengers and crew of Flight 93, and every American who demonstrated extraordinary courage that morning.

And I honor the generations of Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, Coast Guardsmen, intelligence professionals, diplomats, and military families who carried the burden of the wars that followed, including those who never made it home.

Twenty-five years later, their sacrifice still demands something from us:

Remember them.
Honor them.
Tell their stories.
And never forget that America is worth fighting for.

Never Forget. 🇺🇸

America is not an inheritance we simply receive.
It is a legacy we are called to defend.

I’ve worn the uniform, flown into combat, and taken an oath to support and defend this nation. That oath didn’t expire when I left the battlefield.

The mission changes.
The commitment does not.

For our families.
For our freedoms.
For the generations that come after us.

America is worth serving.
America is worth defending.
America is worth fighting for. 🇺🇸
