Your front yard sets the tone for your entire home.

It doesn't take a major makeover to create curb appeal—often, it's the simple details that have the biggest impact. A tidy lawn, charming fencing, colorful planters, and thoughtfully layered landscaping can instantly make a home feel more inviting.

A few easy ways to elevate your front yard:
🌿 Refresh planting beds with seasonal color
🌿 Add definition with fencing, borders, or pathways
🌿 Keep landscaping trimmed and well maintained
🌿 Mix textures and heights for visual interest
🌿 Create a welcoming entry that draws people in

Sometimes all it takes is a green lawn, a few flowers, and a little charm to make a house feel like home. 🏡

I've walked into plenty of homes with great bones that just didn't have that feeling yet. And I've seen simple homes become really special with a few thoughtful changes.

A beautiful home isn't about having the biggest budget or making everything perfect. It's about creating a space that feels comfortable, welcoming, and like you.

That's what good design is all about.

Ever wonder why some homes just feel effortlessly pulled together? It's usually not because everything matches, it's because everything works together.

Here are three tips we use on nearly every project:

• Choose a consistent color palette. Repeating a few key colors throughout the home creates flow from room to room.

• Layer textures. Mixing wood, metal, fabrics, stone, and natural fibers adds depth and keeps a space from feeling flat.

• Repeat finishes thoughtfully. Whether it's black accents, brass hardware, or warm wood tones, repetition helps create a sense of continuity.

The goal isn't perfection. It's creating a home that feels connected, balanced, and uniquely yours. 🙌

Gone are the days when walls were simply painted and forgotten.

Some of my favorite spaces use walls to add personality, depth, and character through thoughtful details like architectural molding, rich paint colors, wallpaper, and layered lighting.

In this space, the combination of a moody paint color, classic wall molding, and warm sconces transforms an ordinary wall into a standout feature.

A few ways to elevate your walls:
✨ Add molding or trim for architectural interest
✨ Embrace a deeper paint color for drama and depth
✨ Layer in sconces to create warmth and ambiance
✨ Use texture and detail to create a custom feel

Sometimes it's not about adding more furniture or decor. It's about creating a backdrop that gives the entire room character.

For years, the advice was simple: paint it white. Not anymore.

According to Zillow's latest research, buyers are gravitating toward warmer, nature-inspired colors like soft greens, muted blues, warm browns, and sophisticated grays.

Why? Because buyers aren't just shopping for square footage. They're shopping for a feeling.

And today, that feeling is less sterile and more welcoming. 🙌

Before buyers notice your flooring, paint colors, or kitchen upgrades, they're taking in how the home feels.

Too much furniture, crowded countertops, overflowing shelves, and excess decor can make spaces feel smaller and more distracting.

If you're preparing for a showing:
✓ Clear kitchen counters
✓ Remove personal items
✓ Edit bookshelves and accessories
✓ Put away everyday clutter
✓ Create breathing room

The goal isn't to make your home feel empty, but it's to help buyers see the space, not your stuff. A little editing can make a BIG difference. 🙌

Summer is the perfect time to take life outside! Picture dining al fresco under twinkling lights, gathering with friends around a fire pit, enjoying your morning coffee in the sunshine, or unwinding in the evening surrounded by soft lighting and beautiful landscaping.

A few thoughtful updates can completely transform an outdoor space:
• Comfortable seating
• Ambient lighting
• Outdoor rugs and pillows
• Planters and greenery
• Spaces designed for gathering and relaxing

The best outdoor spaces feel like a natural extension of your home—welcoming, comfortable, and designed to be enjoyed.

If something feels "off" in a room, the artwork is often the culprit. One of the biggest mistakes I see is hanging art too high.

A good rule of thumb is to hang artwork so the center of the piece is at eye level—typically about 57–60 inches from the floor.

A few other designer tips:
• Over furniture, artwork should feel connected to the piece below it—not floating above it.
• Bigger is usually better. Undersized art can make a wall feel unfinished.
• When creating a gallery wall, think of multiple pieces as one large composition.

The right artwork can completely transform a room, but placement matters just as much as the piece itself.

Sometimes a few inches can make all the difference. 🙌

After years of designing homes, I've found that the spaces people love most aren't necessarily the fanciest ones. They're the rooms that invite you to put your feet up, gather with friends, and truly live.

Of course we all want beautiful finishes, custom details, and those special pieces that make a space feel elevated. But at the end of the day, your home has to work for your lifestyle too.

The sweet spot is finding that balance—where comfort meets style, function meets beauty, and every room feels both intentional and welcoming. 🤩

If there's one color I find myself reaching for every summer, it's blue.

Why? Because it's incredibly versatile. Blue pairs beautifully with warm woods, crisp whites, woven textures, and natural materials—making it an easy addition to almost any home.

The best part? You don't need a major redesign to incorporate it.

Try adding blue through:
• Pillows
• Artwork
• Dishes
• Bedding
• Accent furniture

Whether it's a soft sky blue, a coastal blue, or a rich navy, this timeless hue has a way of making a space feel fresh, relaxed, and effortlessly pulled together. A little blue can go a long way. 💙
