Some of my favorite spaces use walls to add personality, depth, and character through thoughtful details like architectural molding, rich paint colors, wallpaper, and layered lighting.

In this space, the combination of a moody paint color, classic wall molding, and warm sconces transforms an ordinary wall into a standout feature.

If something feels "off" in a room, the artwork is often the culprit. One of the biggest mistakes I see is hanging art too high.

A good rule of thumb is to hang artwork so the center of the piece is at eye level—typically about 57–60 inches from the floor.

A few other designer tips:
• Over furniture, artwork should feel connected to the piece below it—not floating above it.
• Bigger is usually better. Undersized art can make a wall feel unfinished.
• When creating a gallery wall, think of multiple pieces as one large composition.
