Happy Food Is Medicine Day! 🌱 More and more research continues to confirm something natural health has understood for a very long time—real food is POWERFUL medicine. The foods you eat every day provide the nutrients your cells need to repair, rebuild, detoxify, strengthen immune function, support a healthy gut, balance inflammation, and create a healthier internal terrain.
Food is so much more than calories or something that fills our stomach. Food gives your body information. Consistently choosing organic vegetables and fruits, herbs, sprouts, nuts, seeds, and other whole foods can make a tremendous difference in preventing chronic illness and supporting your body as it works toward healing. There is no single magic food, but giving your body what God designed it to use has tremendous healing power. Just decide to eat real food. Nourish your body. Support your body's terrain.
Good health and well-being begins from the inside out.

Never underestimate the power of one positive word of encouragement. A few sincere words spoken at the right moment can give someone hope, restore confidence, or remind them that they have the strength to keep moving forward. We rarely know what another person is carrying quietly, and something as simple as “I believe in you,” “You’re doing better than you think,” or “Keep going” may be exactly what they need to hear that day.
God gave us words for a reason, and Scripture reminds us to use them to strengthen one another: “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:11 Never hold back a kind word when God places it on your heart.
Encouragement costs us nothing, yet its influence can last a lifetime. Your words may become part of the reason someone finds the courage to take the next step—and that next step may help change the direction of their life.

Consistency may not seem exciting, but it is one of THE most powerful habits you can develop—especially when it comes to your health.
Practicing detoxification, eating healthy and organic foods, staying hydrated with clean water, exercising, getting sunshine, supporting lymphatic flow, sacred rest, reducing stress, working through emotions, and keeping your environment clean all work best when they become part of how you live.
You don’t have to do everything perfectly. What matters is showing up and making healthy choices day after day. Your body responds to what you do consistently, and those small, faithful choices can add up to significant changes over time.
Good health isn’t built in a day—it’s built daily.

How to Enjoy Your Weekend with Simplicity🍂
Give yourself permission to slow down and enjoy the simple things. Step outside and soak up some morning sunshine, take a walk, start reading that book you've had for a while but never opened, prepare a healthy meal, laugh with someone you love, spend some quiet time with God, and get the rest your body needs.
You don’t have to fill every minute or accomplish everything on your list. Sometimes the healthiest thing you can do is simply rest, recharge, and enjoy the life God has given you. Monday will come soon enough. Enjoy your weekend! 🍂

READING BOOKS AND LONGEVITY
As the Fall months approach and we spend more time indoors, I want to remind us all of the importance of reading books and how a good book does much more than just pass the time. It gives your brain healthy exercise, supports memory and concentration, encourages deeper thinking, and gives your busy mind a chance to slow down and focus.
Here’s something most people don’t know: A Yale study that followed more than 3,600 adults found that book readers had a 20% lower risk of dying during the 12-year study period than non-readers. Interestingly, books showed a stronger benefit than newspapers or magazines, possibly because books encourage “deep reading”—the brain stays engaged, remembers details, makes connections, and thinks ahead.
Reading can also be a healthy break from the constant stimulation of phones, social media, television, and endless scrolling. And, yes, what we read matters. Choose good books that teach you something, strengthen your faith, encourage you, make you think, or simply bring peace and wellness into your day.
Even 30 minutes a day adds up. So put your phone down, turn off the TV, and pick up a good book. Your brain will thank you—and your health will, too. 📖🌿

I’ve learned that you don’t have to chase down every lie, correct every person, defend yourself against every accusation, or make sure someone gets what you think they deserve.
Truth has a way of standing on its own. (read that again)
Yes, protect your peace, keep your heart right, and continue doing what you know is right. Revenge keeps you connected to the very situation you need to release, while truth allows you to keep moving forward.
And remember, rotten fruit may hang on the tree for a while, but eventually its condition is revealed, and it falls on its own. You don’t have to shake the tree. Give it time, trust God with what you cannot control, and put your energy into growing good fruit in your own life.

Labor Day was established to honor the contributions and achievements of American workers and to recognize the labor movement’s role in improving working conditions and the quality of life for working families.
The Labor Day holiday grew out of the labor movement of the late 1800s, when many Americans worked extremely long hours—often 12-hour days, six or seven days a week (sound familiar?)—and workplace protections were limited. Labor organizations began advocating for reasonable hours, safer workplaces, better wages, and time away from work.
Today is a great reminder to take a break and breathe. We spend so much of our lives doing, working, being busy, helping, planning, and taking care of everyone and everything around us that we often forget how important it is to simply rest and repair. Your body needs periods of quiet to focus its energy on rest, repair, restoration, and renewal, and to just destress.
Stepping away for a little while isn’t wasted time—it’s part of taking care of your health -- body, mind, and spirit. So, today, enjoy some sunshine, put your feet up, spend time with the people you love, laugh, breathe deeply, and give yourself permission to slow down.
Rest is not a reward for finishing everything. Rest is part of staying healthy enough to keep doing the things that matter.
Happy Labor Day! ❤️🤍💙

There has been a lot of back-and-forth over the years about green tea. For a while, we heard about contamination and toxins. Now I’m seeing green tea promoted again—especially in the natural cancer community—because of research involving EGCG, cancer stem cells, and pathways such as Wnt/β-catenin.
I believe we need to look at the whole picture rather than labeling green tea either “toxic” or “perfectly safe.” Green tea itself is not inherently toxic. However, where it is grown, how it is grown, the age and quality of the leaves, how it is processed, what contaminants have accumulated in the plant, and how concentrated the final product is can make a tremendous difference.
Tea plants can accumulate substances from their growing environment, including lead, arsenic, aluminum, and fluoride, and conventionally grown teas may also contain pesticide residues. Testing continues to show considerable differences from one tea product to another. This is why I don’t believe we should assume that, just because something is called “green tea”—or even because the label says “organic”—every product is equally clean. Organic is very important to me, but organic certification does not guarantee that a product is free from heavy metals, fluoride, PFAS, or other environmental contaminants.
Fluoride is one of my continuing concerns, especially when someone drinks several cups of green tea every single day. The tea plant naturally accumulates fluoride from the soil, and older, lower-quality leaves generally accumulate more than younger leaves. Even the length of time the tea is steeped can affect how much fluoride ends up in the cup. When we are working to reduce the body's overall toxic burden, these details matter.
Matcha deserves even more consideration. When you brew traditional loose-leaf green tea, you steep the leaves and then remove them. With matcha, you are consuming the powdered leaf itself. That means you receive its beneficial plant compounds, but you are also consuming whatever contaminants may be present in that leaf. This is one reason I would want to see independent testing before making matcha a daily part of a health-building program.
Another distinction that often gets overlooked is the difference between drinking green tea and taking concentrated green tea extract or EGCG supplements. They are not the same thing, friends. High-dose concentrated green tea extracts have been associated with liver injury, and European safety reviewers have identified particular concern around supplemental doses providing approximately 800 mg of EGCG daily or higher. More is not always better simply because a compound originated in a plant.
This becomes especially important when we are talking about cancer. Yes, there is interesting research involving green tea catechins and EGCG. Laboratory and preclinical research has investigated their effects on cancer stem cell behavior and signaling pathways, including the Wnt/β-catenin pathway. That research deserves attention. But an interesting biological mechanism does not automatically tell us that everyone dealing with cancer should begin drinking large amounts of green tea or taking concentrated EGCG. And researchers have not yet established that drinking green tea or taking EGCG eliminates cancer stem cells in humans. We must always consider the whole person, the terrain, the dose, the product's form, liver health, purity, and overall toxic burden.
And this brings us right back to our earlier discussion: the potential benefit of EGCG does not erase the importance of purity.
I also believe we must pay attention to something that wasn't even discussed nearly as much years ago: PFAS and plastics. Depending on the product and packaging, these may add another potential source of unwanted exposure. Personally, if I were going to drink green tea, I would choose a high-quality, organic, young-leaf tea that has been independently tested for contaminants, preferably loose leaf or packaged without plastic. I would use distilled water, avoid excessively long steeping, and wouldn't assume that drinking more of it automatically produces greater health benefits.
And here is the part I really hope everyone will understand: “Below the legal limit” and “the cleanest product I can put into my body” are not necessarily the same standard. When someone is already working hard to rebuild their health—particularly someone dealing with cancer—I believe reducing unnecessary toxic exposure should remain an important part of rebuilding the body's terrain.
So, am I saying green tea is bad? No. Am I ready to say that all green tea is perfectly clean and that everyone should be drinking it because of one promising cancer pathway? No to that, too.
I want to know where it came from, how it was grown, which leaves were used, whether it was independently tested, what contaminants were tested for, how much is being consumed, and whether we're talking about brewed tea, matcha, or concentrated EGCG extract.
There may indeed be a place for clean, carefully sourced green tea in a natural health program. But when we're working to strengthen the body and improve the terrain, I believe we should remain informed rather than simply following the latest health trend or even what the label on the bottle indicates.
KNOW THE TRUTH. DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH. MAKE INFORMED CHOICES. PROTECT YOUR TERRAIN.
