This is the story of Trish and Mikey.

Before Mikey, Trish was navigating intense PTSD symptoms from her time serving in the Air Force. Mikey, a rescue from Adopt A Rescued Friend (AARF), came to us with the sweetest personality and eagerness to learn.

Together, they’ve become the perfect team. Mikey brings Trish a sense of calm and comfort that has been truly life-changing. In public or stressful situations, he stays right by her side, grounding her and giving her peace when she needs it most. We just love this team!

We were so excited to welcome 14 of our Veterans and their families to the 2026 Recertification Retreat in Silverthorne, CO! It was an amazing weekend filled with great stories and friends and refreshing important training skills.

We are very grateful for the incredible Rescue family that continues to support, encourage, and stand alongside one another. Thank you to everyone who helped make this weekend so special. ❤️🐾

A big congrats to the Rescue’s Vice President Ed and his pup Milo for passing the American Kennel Club (AKC) Canine Good Citizen test! 🎉🐶 While Milo isn’t a service dog, he’s proud to show off his official “Good Boy” skills wherever he goes. We’re so proud of Ed and Milo for their hard work and dedication! 👏

Trips to the grocery store are part of everyday life, but for many veterans living with PTSD, a crowded store can be overwhelming. Our pups restore confidence and independence, helping their handlers navigate the world again one outing at a time.
