It was a beautiful night. Thank you PoetryLounge Houston for the flowers...I am indeed grateful...

See you this Sunday, Houston. I am humbled to be honored, and I look forward to coming home again!

Today is 9 /9/2+0+2+5 = 9

9×3 = 27

2+7= 9

One thing I find so interesting about 9 is that the numbers of whatever product is derived from its being multiplied always add up to 9!

(i.e. - 9×22 = 198, 1+9+8 = 18, 1+8 = 9
OR
9×621 = 5589, 5+5+8+9 = 27, 2+7 = 9) 

9 is true to itself. It is its own North Star. Even the number becomes an infinity symbol when inverted, flipped and joined to itself. To be succinct, 9 represents the perpetual completion and commencement of process; birth, death, and rebirth; the ever progressing spiral; the eternal circle of life…

9 is also the Orisa Oya's number, and my beautiful wife, Asia Rainey is Oya's daughter (and priest - Oyagbemi).

As our years together have transpired, I have witnessed her exemplify the qualities outlined above.
SHE IS Chaka Khan's “Every Woman”.
SHE IS at once a challenge and an affirmation, a loving expletive and an elemental double dare to elevate and vibrate higher. 
SHE IS an inspired spiral, and in her presence, no stagnancy can stand. 
SHE IS  Mother Dear. 
SHE IS Lover Quintessential. 

She is, and will remain, the one that I adore, and as a result of my submission to the will of God, we are building our life together. I bear witness to her waxing glory and expansion. Indeed, I am blessed amongst men.

Please join me in celebrating the birthday of my Beloved Queen Asia Rainey-Ani. May she forever reign…

Reminiscing today...continue to Rest in Beats, y'all

We spent 9 days in The French Riviera (Nice, Cannes). Then we spent 8 hours in Turkey (Istanbul, Taksim). The juxtaposition was profiund and surreal.

One day, we are surrounded by super yachts, super cars, and the super rich. The very next day, we were approached by a little girl begging for change in Taksim Square at 3:30am. She was likely a Syrian refugee.

Getting outside of the US has quickly afforded me a much sharper perspective on concepts like "success","poverty","wealth","pain",etc. I can not unsee it (and I wouldn't if I could).

There is so much to share, and in time, I will be sharing more. Just know that this experience has been transformative.

Back to getting over this jet-lag...
