No single rescue can solve the animal crisis alone. It takes all of us rescues, fosters, volunteers, and our community working together.

🐾 A sweet update on Theo! 🐾

Theo was pulled from the Humble Animal Shelter and placed with a wonderful local foster family while he waited for his forever home.

Well… sometimes the perfect home is the one they’re already in. 🖤

His foster family completely fell in love with him and decided they simply couldn’t let him go. Theo has officially been ADOPTED by his foster family!

We absolutely love a foster fail, especially when it means one of our dogs has found exactly where he belongs.

Happy tails, sweet Theo! We are so excited for you and your forever family.

Happy tails for Lila!

Lila was found on the streets of Houston, Texas, and today she has officially arrived HOME in Connecticut!

This is what happens when you have committed fosters, dedicated adopters, supporters who believe in the mission, and people willing to open their hearts to a dog hundreds of miles away.

Fostering truly saves lives. Because someone said “yes” to giving Lila a temporary place to land, she was given the time she needed to find the family she was meant for.

From the streets of Houston to a forever home in Connecticut, this is why we do what we do.

Happy life, sweet Lila! You deserve every bit of it.

FLIPPY IS HOME. 🩷🐾

When Flippy first came to us, he was a scared, skittish little guy who wasn’t quite sure what to make of people—or this whole “being loved” thing.

His foster family gave him exactly what he needed: time, patience, space, and a whole lot of love.

And little by little, Flippy started showing them who he really was.

The boy who once wanted to run away started coming closer.
He learned that hands could mean comfort.
He started playing with the kids.
He made dog friends.
He made cat friends. 😂
He started barking, being silly, doing his morning “kangaroo” jumps onto the bed…and eventually decided the best sleeping spot in the house was between his foster parents’ pillows.

At some point along the way, “foster home” simply became home. 🥹

Flippy’s family officially adopted him, and seeing the happy, comfortable little dog he is today compared to the frightened boy who first arrived is exactly why fostering matters.

Not every rescue dog walks through the door ready to cuddle. Sometimes you have to give them enough time to realize they’re finally safe.

And then one day, you look over and realize…

they’re not scared anymore. They’re home. 🩷

Happy forever, Flippy. You found exactly where you were supposed to be. 🐾

From living in a cardboard box … to this. 🐾

These two sweet boys started out as tiny babies in a cardboard box with their littermates, and now look at them! They’ve grown into playful, loving puppies with their own little personalities and somehow, they are still waiting for their forever homes.

Both are male puppies and are ready to find families of their own. They love to play, snuggle, explore, and soak up all the attention they can get.

It’s hard to believe how far they’ve come. Now they just need someone to choose them. 💙

Meet Shay!✨

Shay’s rescue story began while a group of amazing community members were working together to save her last puppy, who was trapped down in a ditch in Houston, Texas.

Thanks to their determination, the final puppy was safely rescued and so was mama Shay.

Texas Bark Squad already had a committed foster ready for mom, so we were able to bring Shay into our rescue and give her the chance she deserved.

And we got some amazing news at her vet visit… Shay tested HEARTWORM NEGATIVE!

She has a spay appointment scheduled and will soon be officially ready for adoption.

Shay is dog friendly and currently being fostered around other dogs. She also isn’t fazed by cats and has shown little interest in them.

🐾 Meet Sage! 🖤

Sage is an adorable 6-month-old Black Lab/Retriever mix looking for her forever family!

This sweet girl was originally found alone at a park when a Good Samaritan heard her crying and simply couldn’t leave her behind. Sage is now safe in a loving foster home in the Houston, Texas area, where she’s showing everyone just how special she is.

Sage is:
•Great with other dogs
•Great with children
•Great in the car
•Loves going for walks
•Kennel trained
🚽 Doing great with house training,
only an occasional puppy accident!

We’re unsure how Sage does with cats at this time, but she’s a happy, loving young girl who is ready to grow up with a family of her very own.
