Cherokee and Kiowa filmmaker Loren Waters directed Tiger (2025). The 13-minute documentary portrays Indigenous artist-elder Dana Tiger, her family's grief, and a T-shirt company's revival. The Tulsa-based director built the film from a deeply personal subject.
Tiger won the Short Film Special Jury Award for Directing at Sundance 2025. Waters was also named to Forbes 30 Under 30. An Indigenous documentary voice carried Tulsa to Park City and took Sundance's directing prize.

Legendary Narragansett Indian Ellison "Tarzan" Brown, 2-time Boston Marathon winner (1936, 1939), 1936 U.S. Olympian, 1973 Inductee into the American Indian Athletic Hall of Fame, 2024 Inductee to the North American Indigenous Athletic Hall of Fame and the reason Heartbreak Hill got that very nickname, passed on to the ancestors 51 years ago today.
