Through strong and effective community partnerships with a sustainable financial base, the youth receiving treatment at the Fred and Mabel R. Parks Youth Ranch will be empowered with coping skills, hope and achievable goals and no longer at risk of being homeless. Parks Youth Ranch was established to address an identified gap in services for abused, at risk and homeless youth in Fort Bend County. In February 2011 the 90-day emergency youth shelter and counseling center opened and is serving youth between the ages of 13 to 17 years of age. The ranch houses three facilities: The George Counseling Center, Fort Bend Junior Service League Recreation Center and the emergency shelter. Referrals come from TX Department of Family and Protective Services, Juvenile Probation or the community.

This Labor Day, we’re grateful for the people who show up every day to make a difference.
To our incredible staff who care for our youth around the clock, our volunteers who give their time, our community partners who lend a hand, and every hardworking person who helps make Fort Bend County a stronger community—thank you.
At Parks Youth Ranch, we know that meaningful work comes in many forms. Sometimes it looks like preparing a meal, driving a young person to school, offering a listening ear, or simply being there when someone needs you most.
Today, we celebrate the dedication, compassion and hard work that help build brighter futures.

Youth homelessness doesn’t always look the way you think it does. And yes—it’s happening right here in Fort Bend County.
Behind the beautiful neighborhoods, great schools and growing communities are young people facing situations no child should have to navigate alone.
Some are escaping abuse or neglect. Some have been removed from unsafe homes. Others simply have nowhere safe to go.
That’s why Parks Youth Ranch exists.
As the only emergency shelter for youth in Fort Bend County, PYR is here when a young person needs safety most. We provide a warm bed, meals, clothing, transportation to school, counseling, case management, educational support—and caring adults who remind them that they matter.
For a child in crisis, a safe place to sleep tonight can change what tomorrow looks like.
The need is real. The need is local. And the need is closer than you might think.
Together, we can make sure youth in crisis have a Home for Today and Hope for Tomorrow.

We loved welcoming Gifting Kindness to Parks Youth Ranch this weekend! Our residents enjoyed an afternoon filled with creativity, encouragement, and connection.
A special thank you to Andrea Brockman Cashiola for sharing her time and talents and to Judge Daniel Wong for spending time with our youth and offering such meaningful words of encouragement.
We’re grateful for community partners who show up for our kids and remind them just how much their community cares. Thank you, Gifting Kindness, for a wonderful afternoon at the Ranch!
