Spring migration for birds peaks from mid-April to mid-May. When rain hits, they seek refuge and food in trees, making this spot a resting haven. It's incredible to witness hundreds of birds find sanctuary here, especially when storms roll in from the Gulf.
Embarking on a daunting 3-day birding challenge on Galveston Island. Success means I can finally call myself a birder, but failure is not an option. Will I spot an owl, the one elusive species I've never seen here?
