A load should do more than just pay well.

it should put your truck in a position for another load equally as profitable- if not more.

The best load isn’t always the one paying the most.

A decent paying load in a strong market can make you more money than a great paying load that leaves you stranded or sitting.

The goal isn’t to maximize one load, it’s to maximize your entire week.

Each load should set up the next one.

The real money is made by understanding WHERE your truck needs to be. Not just what the load is paying.

A great rate into the wrong market can actually cost you a lot more.

RPM matters. But it isn’t the whole story.

The goal isn’t to win a load. The goal is to win the week. And do it again next week.

That takes strategy, not just always chasing top rates.

Chasing excitement usually comes with chasing problems too.

The ones quietly making money tend to have more discipline, more repeatable lanes, and more predictable days.

The smartest move is the one that puts you in a position to do it again next week.

Anybody can have a good week

Profit disappears through:
-Bad positioning
-Not knowing your CPM and running blind
-Unnecessary deadhead
-Poor planning
-Inconsistency
-Wearing every hat in your business

Making money and keeping money are two different skills.

Anyone can use a load board. Using it as a tool is key though.

Before you book a load you need to know:

Where will this truck be in 48 hours?
Is freight building in that market?
Are rates climbing or softening?
Will this create unnecessary deadhead?
Does this position us for another strong load?

Make sure you’re not just paying someone to only find you loads. Make sure they’re positioning your truck.

Most carriers judge a load by the rate.

I judge it by what happens after delivery. The goal isn’t to maximize one load, it’s to maximize weekly revenue.

The best carriers understand the difference.

Not every truck is meant to make local money.

Not every lane is built for daily home time.

And you can’t always force local money out of long haul freight.

Don’t you want a dispatcher to position your truck instead of chasing loads for you? You can chase loads yourself and don’t have to pay anyone.

More good loads don’t equal scaling.

Connection between loads and momentum does.

If you reset every week, you’re not growing- you’re just staying busy.
