Ari - New to Rescue - Need Foster's Story

Ari was found neglected in a small pen when a fire crew responded to a call. at the property. One of the fire workers, recognized him as a Great Pyrenees and reached out to us to see if we could take him, as his current owners did not want him. Someone who previously lived with them moved away and left him. He had moldy water, no food, and they had no money to care for him. It was 100 degrees outside, July 3rd, fireworks were imminent. and he had no where to go to get away from the heat or the fireworks. We estimate he is 3-4 years old. Ari is the sweetest boy. He loves human interaction and has done well with walking. He is an opportunist, so secure fencing is a must, and 6' is recommended or he could be placed in a walk only home.. We recommend obedience training for all newly adopted pyrs, to help you create a special bond with you and your new friend, and so you have a well behaved canine. Great Pyrenees are willing to learn, but are not as eager to comply with commands as much as other breeds.

🆘🆘🆘🆘Medical foster needed!

Chartreuse was found as a stray with injuries to her neck and head, most likely from a fight with a coyote pack. Her wounds have been treated and she is on antibiotics. She needs a foster home to recover. Everyone who meets her talks about how sweet she is. Good with other dogs- unproven with cats. Update: Ellie is doing a little better! Keep your healing thought and prayers for her going! Ellie’s bilirubin numbers have continued to drop slightly, and she is eating enthusiastically. Her adopters and the doctors, are cautiously optimistic! She hads to wear a cone because she is trying to take her IV out. I think she trying to tell us she's ready to get out of there!

Please send healing energy and prayers to sweet Ellie! She got treated for heartworm two weeks ago and her liver is not doing well currently. She seems to be having a reaction to the pain medication administered during the treatment. She has a foster family rooting for her and two loving adoptive parents looking after her. She has been in the emergency hospital since Monday.

🐾 Meet Thelma 🐾

Thelma has been through more than any dog should. She and Louise were spotted wandering through four different counties for more than six weeks before they were finally safely caught. Sadly, neither girl was reclaimed from the shelter.

We believe Thelma is Louise’s mom. They were bonded when they came to us, and while Louise has now found her forever home, Thelma is still waiting for hers. ❤️

Thelma is estimated to be about 4–6 years old, although she’s keeping that information to herself! 😉 She may be small in height, but she is definitely not a small dog—she’s a fluffy little teddy bear with a whole lot of love to give.

Thelma is a shy girl who needs someone willing to be patient and let her learn that people can be trusted. Humans have let her down, and she will need time, kindness, and understanding to come out of her shell.

We recommend obedience training for all newly adopted Pyrs. Not only does it help create a special bond between you and your new companion, but it also helps set everyone up for success. Great Pyrenees are smart and willing to learn—they just aren’t always as eager to comply as some other breeds. ❤️

Thelma doesn’t need a busy life. She needs a safe home, gentle guidance, quiet walks, patience, and someone who will love her exactly as she is.

She has so much love left to give to the right person. Maybe that person is you. 🐾❤️

Bessie - Young Female - Needs Foster's Story

Bessie was surrendered to a shelter by someone who got her off a website less than 24 hours after they got her. No reason was given for giving her up. She is a smaller girl, about 60 lbs. Bessie rides great in a vehicle, and loves getting attention. She is fine with other dogs. Unproven with cats. She is friendly and enjoys going for walks. We estimate she is less than 2 years old. Bessie has been enjoying romping with other dogs and could use a good bath! Any volunteers?

Applicants must be over 25, own their own home and all children in household must be over5 years old.

Harvey - 8 months old - New to Rescue - Fostered Needed's Story

Harvey was found as a stray and not reclaimed from the shelter. We estimate he was born in January 2026. He is a beautiful boy who is very gentle and eager to please. He gets along well with other dogs, and is friendly with all people. He most likely was a farm dog who was not contained, because when he came into rescue he smelled like a barn. We recquire obedience training for all newly adopted pyrs, to help you create a special bond with you and your new friend, and so you have a well behaved canine. Great Pyrenees are willing to learn, but are not as eager to comply with commands as much as other breeds. They are bred to be independent thinkers. Applicants must be over 25, own their own home and all children in household must be over 6 years old. Your resident pets must be up to date on vaccines, sterilized, you must have a good history of vet care for them for the past two years, and you must have used heartworm preventative year round for your dogs and be able to provide proof of purchase. Join us this Sunday, September 13th from 1-3 pm for volunteer training to work with the Great Pyrenees in our care. Training sessions are 15-20 minutes and offered throughout this time period. Once you complete the training , you are welcome to volunteer any time during open kennel hours.
