Say what you will, but this is what it’s coming to. What’s happening in Coweta County right now could easily happen anywhere.

Georgia Power is forcibly taking Ansley Brown’s mother’s family home, the place they’ve lived in for over 20 years. And it’s not just her mother’s house. GA Power is targeting more than 330 properties in the area, with plans to fully acquire and demolish around 21 homes.

They’re threatening to do it through eminent domain—the legal power that allows the government (or utility companies it authorizes) to seize private property for what’s considered “public use,” as long as they pay what they call “just compensation.”

In this case, they want the land to build new high-voltage power lines to supply a massive AI data center project known as Project Sail. And local and state officials—including the Coweta County Board of Commissioners (who approved the rezoning) and the Georgia Public Service Commission (which greenlights major utility infrastructure)—are allowing it to move forward.

It’s getting out of hand. It’s time to take a stand with Ansley Brown and stop these AI data centers before they take over our land, take our homes, and ruin our communities.

Follow Ansley Brown to keep up with her story and her fight against GA Power, and County and State officials.

If you have a story you want shared, message me and I’ll research it and help put it out there.

Follow me if you like fact-based content and straightforward takes on what’s really happening in our communities.
