With the weather finally cooling a bit i know some of us are used to watering our plants a lot.
When the cooler weather comes through and the plants come indoors make sure you are not over watering. This can lead to a few varieties of fungus gnat or phorid fly harboring in the soil as the water speeds up the decomposition process. The fix is easy, reduce water, throw up a light trap to catch the ones already hatched and if its severe enough treat the soil. (if its a non food plant)
If you have pests we can help! Just give us a call at 337-354-6035

Yall keep your eyes peeled for these little guys, you don't wanna get stung.
One of our rules we follow around here is to avoid any flowering plants so we don't harm the bugs that are good for our environment things like butterflys and bees are out friends. Good IMP (integrated pest management) is about solving the physical issues that let pests into our home by correcting actions and environmental conditions first so we don't just put unnecessary chemicals out that can harm our beautiful state.
We work to keep you safe from pests and pesticides so give us a call at 337-354-6035 and we will take care of you!
Saddleback caterpillars are out and about this time of year. They have a very painful sting and are the most common stinging caterpillar in North America.
You can take antihistamines and use a cold compress if stung. Remove any hairs and spines using adhesive tape. Wash the stung area with soap and water or a sterilizing agent and allow to air dry. Anaphylactic reactions are rare. If you suspect an allergic reaction, or if stung regions are significantly swollen, see a doctor for medical attention. As the weather drops and so do the leaves, the fall critters get a bit more active in preparations for the cold.
A lot of the time the summer heat holds some pests at bay but with rains and falling leaves we will start to see a lot more varieties of pests.
Things like leaf litter and mulch provide great harborages for everyone's favorite the American roach AKA the tree roach.
So our tip of the day is to keep those areas around your home free from leaves amd fallen sticks so those pests dont have a place to go.
If you do see those pests we then call us at 337-354-6035! We will get you taken care of.

I forgot to get pics but we had some fun today battling some yellow jackets. They made a nest in some fallen leaves built up in some shrubs. It was super cool to see and as we pulled leaves we could find more and more larve and eggs mixed in.
Those little buggers are aggressive. Dont get stung call a pro.

Something we dont often think about is our homes weep holes. They are there to allow moisture behind the bricks from rain to run down and out since bricks are porous.
The small gaps though can let in crickets and roaches and all kinds of other pests all into your attic. Soon you can have lizards or frogs up there hunting the bugs. It quickly becomes a problem though when a snake ends up in there because the lizards are a good food source or maybe a rodent finds a hole amd now he is up there eating bugs to.
Its best to be preemptive. Call us and we can seal up those weep holes with a breathable metal mesh that will still let the water pass through and block pests from crawling up.
Our number is 337-354-6035 and we can handle any pests you may have!
That cool front will have those field mice moving soon. If your home isn't yet protected from them go ahead and give us a call.
Not only do we treat and help get rid of rodent issues but we do exclusion work as well. Sealing up those holes and gaps on the outside can sometimes be the real winning factor when working to eradicate rodents in a home.
Call us at 337-354-6035! We got you covered.

Fall officially starts today, and many garden centers are filling up with mums!
For the longest-lasting display, look for plants that are just beginning to show color rather than those with many opened blooms. Keep them watered and make sure they're getting plenty of sun. You can read more about selecting and caring for mums here: https://tinyurl.com/3n4nuwad

So im sure a lot of you have been hearing about crazy ants.
Did you know that they are a non native species to north America? They are also called raspberry crazy ants because of tom raspberry who noticed their increased numbers in 2002.
These crazy ants are from south America and developed a coating around their bodies to protect themselves from fire ant venom.
For us they are a huge damaging nuisance and are hard to treat. They dont respond to normal ant baits or insecticides and have to be treated with termiticides for proper control. This paired with the fact that they have "super colonies" with multiple queens make them a tough pest. They love to get in and damage electrical panels and sockets so if you see a bunch of small ants running erratically and all over the place give us professionals a call so we can give you a hand.
Our number is 337-354-6035 and we would love to get your pest problems solved!
