We’re excited to have 's Mobile Mill joining us for Heartbeats & Hoofbeats and bringing specialty themed drinks for our guests to enjoy!

These are just a few of our amazing volunteers who spend time with our horses as exercise riders and grooming buddies.
From grooming a horse to helping them stretch their legs, every bit of time and care makes a difference. We appreciate all of our exercise riders and grooming buddies and everything they do for our herd!

A little bit of p**p and plenty of time with the minis!
North School students got a true hands-on experience during their field trip to ECL. They helped clean up after the horses and then headed inside to work with them!
It is one thing to learn about horses, it is another to get right in there and experience the work, responsibility, and connection that comes with caring for them.

Heartbeats & Hoofbeats is getting closer, and we are excited to have

Their mobile bartending and mocktail service will be helping us add a little extra something special to the evening. We are so grateful for their support of ECL and Scholar’s Stable and cannot wait to celebrate together on October 3!
Heartbeats & Hoofbeats—12 days until we see you there!
We asked a very important question: How much manure does a barn full of horses actually produce and that volunteers and staff clean up?
The answer? Roughly 5,000 lbs. a week. 😳
Since the math isn't mathing… we had to do the math.
10 full-sized horses & ponies × ~50 lbs/day = 500 lbs/day
11 minis × ~15 lbs/day = 165 lbs/day
Total = 665 lbs/day
665 lbs × 7 days = 4,655 lbs/week
So yeah… roughly 5,000 lbs. of manure every week.

Our Halloween event is coming up, and we are collecting candy donations to help make the day extra sweet for our guests!
If you would like to help, consider donating bags of individually wrapped candy. Every donation helps us create a fun Halloween experience for our ECL community!

Our horses were great teachers today and taught some MSU veterinary students proper haltering techniques, horse behavior, how to complete physical exams, and venipuncture locations!
