**Happy Labor Day from the FIRST Hub Participatory Defense Program!**

This Labor Day, we recognize the value of hard work—and the importance of making sure everyone has the opportunity to move their life forward.

Every week at the FIRST Hub, we work alongside individuals and families navigating the criminal legal system. We help families understand the court process, connect people with community resources, develop Social Biography Packets that show the whole person beyond a criminal charge, and support individuals working toward treatment, stability, employment, and a better future.

We see firsthand how difficult it can be to find employment, housing, and opportunity when someone has been impacted by the criminal legal system. Yet we also see determination, resilience, and families who refuse to give up on the people they love.

This Labor Day, we celebrate second chances, meaningful employment, strong families, and the dignity of every person working to rebuild their life.

From all of us at the FIRST Hub, have a safe and meaningful Labor Day! 💙
