The corporation Oxy Low Carbon Ventures (OLCV) has submitted a Class VI carbon dioxide (CO2) permit application to the Railroad Commission (RRC) to drill three injection wells in Ector County, Texas.

Mixing pressurized CO2 injection with an active oil and gas reservoir can cause old oil wells to become conduits for CO2 leaks. Pressurized injection can also cause fractures and faultlines below the earth, leading to:

🕳️Sinkholes,
🫨Manmade earthquakes, and
💧Irreversible contamination of our aquifers.
