Fibers and Threads
Stitching the luxury and tradition of handmade for you and those you love.

August is over which means I've added 10 more Sunburst Granny Squares to my year-long afghan project.
First time all year I’ve actually had to drag myself through the monthly squares. It’s wild because ten squares shouldn't feel like a chore, but when shiny new project syndrome strikes, it hits hard. 🤷🏼♀️ Also....retreat prep....woohoo!!
Anyone else hitting a wall with their long-term projects right now?

If you're coming to the next Fibers and Threads Retreat with Cathe Holden...you may want to shield your eyes! 🙈 I’m officially cutting into this stunning Vintage Soul fabric designed by Cathe for Moda Fabrics United Notions | Top fabric & notions distributor to make your attendee gifts. It’s hard to say what I’m more excited for—how this project is turning out, or getting to hang out with Cathe at the retreat! ❤️✂️

Travel knitting!
I'm working on a knitted tank top using the pattern "Sweet Paulette Top" by Amanda Lee . It's the first time I've ever knit a picot folded waistband (look at the lower part of the picture) and I really enjoyed it!
Of course my yarn is in my darling bag that Dawn Anliker made me. It's the perfect size and makes me happy to look at!
Have an absolutely wonderful day, y'all.

Knitted socks
It's time to start the toe...
I’m trying out FlexiFlips for the needles on this pair of socks. I'm on the first sock and I’m still not entirely sure if I like knitting with them better than double-pointed needles.
Yarn: MadTosh Twist Light in Rose
Needle: 2.5mm
Pattern: this is a mix of patterns. I searched YouTube for "hand knit socks" for each section.
CO 64. I used a long tail cast on.
K2/P2 for 1" rib
K3/P1 until sock is desired length.
Add the heel of your choice.
Knit to 2" shorter than foot length.
Start toe decrease.

Travel essentials!
Wherever I’ve gone this year, my project and supplies have come with me.
• Gingiber 2026 tea towel.
• Tiny scissors.
• Thread tails in an old crayon tin.
• Travel bobbin.
• Watermelon Jolly Rancher.
The Jolly Rancher was a gift from my oldest grandson. ♡
I hope today holds beautiful things for you!

I am beyond grateful for the incredible response to the **Fibers and Threads Retreat featuring Cathe Holden** today. Watching this community come together around the art of slow stitching and handmade beauty is truly the best part of what I do.
**The Update:** We are officially at capacity and the retreat is now **full**!
If you missed out on a spot this time, don’t worry—you can still join the journey. Please head to the link in my bio to add your name to our Priority Queue. Life happens, and if a space opens up, those on this list will be the first to know.
Thank you for your kindness, your excitement, and for valuing the "intentionally woven" art we are creating together. I can’t wait to see you all in October! ✨
