Good evening lovely people! We got 10 monthly donors subscribed! First goal was met ✅

Now, on our way to 100 monthly sponsors- I am setting the goal at getting 3 by tomorrow morning!

What we are doing…..

It gets EXHAUSTING 💤 to both us and yall to be constantly on here asking for help for small things, big things, all the things. I’m tired, I know yall are tired too.

I crunched some numbers, I did the things. Minimally, $2k is roughly our basic needs cost per month.

Instead of selling my soul in t shirts and hoodies every time we get low on funds, it would be amazing knowing we have them coming in.

If you don’t know, we not only help when we can here (Facebook postings of horses), we help locally, we offer assistance for hay and feed, trailering assistance, I lay horses over who are in transit to other rescues, we help sponsor local athletes, we have helped with vet bills, we have taken on other species who needed help- we do what we can. When basic needs are met, that gives us just a little breathing room to say yes to a surrender, to say yes to family down the street who fell on hard times but isn’t ready to give up their horses, because the money from adoptions and merch sales is going back out in the form of help instead of the same cycle I have coined, “fighting for our life daily” 😆

Our goal is 100 monthly subscribers that donate- recurring donations. Any amount would be amazing. Maybe you skip your coffee on Fridays and donate $20 a month instead.

Maybe you can do more? Maybe you can do less.

(I will say, please under NO circumstances do I ever want someone to donate to us that has to chose between their bills and helping us. We are not that kind of rescue)

Even just a like or a share means the world to us!

These two boys will be looking for a home they can stay together in.

Both have had their teeth done, both had their feet done and did well.

Here’s what we know-
Odin (bay roan) seems to have been handled by being hit in the face. He is very jumpy when you’re near his face. However, he is incredibly sweet and gentle and loves the scratches once he establishes you’re not coming at him aggressively. Just in the little time they have been here he has gone from running away to standing to be caught and loved on.

He is watchy, but again, we think he may have been handled rough. During a riding evaluation he was snorty and went sideways when she went to mount him, so we stopped.

He is not being advertised as broke to ride, BUT we suspect with the right person he may be able to follow Loki easily. We believe he was broke to ride at one point.

Loki (bay) is a gentle boy with the mare ears 😆. He’s all talk. He also seems to have been handled pretty roughly, but has shown us he is quicker to give you a chance.

Both of these horses tend to respond better to women, but I think with the right man they would come around too.

Loki showed us during evaluation he needs a tune up, and if he is still here in October he will be going for one.

Both have BLM titles, negative coggins, and UTD on farrier and teeth.

At this point, only considering home offers that keep them together and a home that is experienced (unless you just want some pasture pets, in that case they would be good for that too)

Both aged by dentist to be about 16-17 years old.
Odin is shorter of the two, I can tape him but I think he stands around 14.1hh and Loki maybe closer to 14.3hh

Contract required.

If 100 people committed to just $20 a month, Freedom Valley Rescue would have $2,000 coming in every single month that we could count on for hay, grain, supplements and the everyday supplies these animals need.

That number would be HUGE for us.

Rescue is unpredictable. We never know when the next horse is going to need us, when a vet bill is going to hit, or when something is going to break. But there are some expenses that we know are coming every single month whether we are ready for them or not.

They have to eat.

$20 may not feel like enough to make a difference when you look at the cost of running a rescue.

But 100 people giving $20?

That changes things.

It means knowing there is money for hay.
It means knowing there is money for feed.
It means having one less thing to panic about every month and being able to focus that energy on the animals that need us.

So I’m looking for 100 people willing to become $20 monthly donors.

Not hundreds of dollars. Not a huge commitment.

Just twenty bucks.

Our new friends made it! Let’s give them a big FVR welcome!

Odin is so handsome.

Yesterday was 🦷 DENTAL DAY at FVR. The theee new horses all got good reports! And for the first time ever…. All three are aged at what they were claimed to be 😆. All three had good mouths and all three did good. Odin was the one who wanted to fight it the most, but we got him done. (It’s always the smallest ones with the biggest fight in em 😆)
