A Weller soldering iron from the 1970s made our day at Maker Faire Bay Area.
Its owner proudly showed us that his old soldering station is still working today, sparking conversations about engineering, innovation, and decades of making.
Seeing experienced makers share that passion with the next generation was what Day 2 was all about.
The idea to join Maker Faire originated from Weller’s Future Originals initiative. The goal was simple: to connect with younger generations, spark their curiosity, and show them what’s possible through soldering and electronics.

The best part of Maker Faire Bay Area wasn't the technology. It was the people.
Watching teachers learn alongside their students, parents share their passion with their children, and future makers discover what they're capable of creating with their own hands reminded us why events like this matter.
