This week, we’re spotlighting Megan Pontes, whose research explores the intersections of leadership, philanthropy, and social justice advocacy.

Megan’s work examines how leadership and philanthropic practices can contribute to meaningful social change, bringing important questions of equity and advocacy into conversations about the nonprofit sector.

Exhibit at ARNOVA 2026 in Philadelphia

A limited number of table-top exhibit spaces are still available for the 55th Annual ARNOVA Conference, November 19–21 at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel.

ARNOVA brings together professors, researchers, consultants, nonprofit executives, and foundation leaders — decision-makers responsible for purchases from books to consulting services to educational programming. Exhibits sit in a high-traffic area and stay open all three days.

Leeann’s work explores how rural community foundations can grow their impact and help the communities they serve move from simply surviving to truly thriving.

By examining the unique opportunities and challenges facing rural philanthropy, her research contributes to a deeper understanding of how place-based organizations can strengthen communities and create lasting change.
