Congratulations to CT Technologist Brianna Boatwright, recipient of our latest HRO (High-Reliability Organization) Hero Award! ๐Ÿ†

Brianna was caring for a patient who experienced significant contrast extravasation during a CT scan. This occurs when IV contrast, a substance used to help produce clearer images, accidentally leaks out of the blood vessel and into the surrounding tissue.

After assessing the patient, she felt unsettled about the recommended treatment.

Instead of accepting an answer she felt wasnโ€™t right, Brianna maintained a questioning attitude and voiced her concerns.

She also shared the experience with her director, helping identify an opportunity for additional education about the process.

Thank you, Brianna, for putting patient safety first, speaking up and staying diligent until you knew your patient was receiving the care they needed. Thatโ€™s what being an HRO Hero is all about! โค๏ธ๐Ÿ‘

Huge congratulations to our Acute Medical Care Unit team for taking home the coveted HRO (High-Reliability Organization) Hero Award! ๐Ÿ†

Thanks to an innovative pilot project where high-risk patients wore yellow hospital gowns as a clear visual reminder for staff to keep an extra close eye on them, the team achieved an astounding 78% reduction in patient falls this spring compared to the previous quarter. ๐Ÿ“‰

This incredible achievement shows what happens when proactive care, teamwork and smart safety practices come together. Thank you to our 3rd floor crew for your unwavering dedication to keeping our patients safe every single day! ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ‘

โค๏ธ A 100th birthday invitation like no other! ๐ŸŽ‰

While 99-year-old Kathleen Contillo was in our Acute Surgical Care Unit recovering from pneumonia, she formed a special connection with 27-year-old Registered Nurse Ramah Mohsin.

As a former nurse herself, Kathleen felt an instant bond with Ramah. Her morning routine? Putting on her lipstick and playfully calling Ramah her "boyfriend" whenever he walked into her hospital room! ๐Ÿ’„โœจ

Their connection grew so strong that Kathleen insisted Ramah be there for her milestone 100th birthday party โ€” and he wouldn't have missed it for the world. ๐Ÿฅณ๐ŸŽ‚

We are so proud of the healthcare heroes like Ramah who bring exceptional care and heart to our patients every day. Happy 100th Birthday, Kathleen! ๐Ÿ’
