As one of the co-authors of Act 102, over 16,000 mothers in Wisconsin will have access to increased post-partum care. At the end of the day, this legislation is about doing what’s right for mothers and children in Wisconsin, providing support and protections that will make a real difference in people’s lives.

Just a reminder that 4 out of 5 Wisconsinites support the "Return the Surplus" package I voted in favor of. This bipartisan compromise would have returned the surplus back to you while also providing property tax relief, support for our local schools, and help for hardworking people to manage rising costs. I remain committed to returning this surplus back to you.

Back in May my colleagues and I sent a letter to Governor Evers to use the surplus to provide meaningful and immediate relief to the people of Wisconsin. That is why I remain committed to working across the aisle to get this done to return the surplus back to you.

This session I authored and got signed into law legislation that creates a pilot program to support professional development for K–12 science teachers, helping educators gain new skills and access hands-on resources to enhance classroom learning. I'm proud to see that the grant applications are open and I can’t wait to see how this program helps our state’s science teachers continue to grow.

ICYMI, this session I was the driving force behind a law to eliminate the filing fee for 18-year-olds who are still in high school and looking to start a business. Prior to this change, that exemption only applied to students pursuing post-secondary education.

Young entrepreneurs should have every opportunity to turn their ideas into reality, and this legislation helps create a fairer system that supports innovation, ambition, and the future of small business in Wisconsin.

Today, we honor and remember the lives lost on September 11th, 2001. May our nation never forget.

This session, I’m proud to have voted to pass life-saving legislation for our mothers of Wisconsin. The first bill, Gail’s law, was in response to a woman who discovered her breast cancer diagnosis too late. This new law means women like Gail will have greater access to early detection and a reduced financial burden for these life-saving tests.

Because of my support for the bipartisan state budget, the South Bridge connector project continues to move forward. The WisDOT recently announced that the I-41 and South Bridge Interchange is on track to be completed by the end of October. Thank you to the WisDOT for their continued work and dedication on this enormous project.

ICYMI: Here is my floor speech from back in May about the importance of returning the surplus back to taxpayers so we can deliver meaningful property tax relief back to the 88th Assembly District.
