Yesterday we went to rescue one puppy… and came home with two. 🥺❤️
We found another little girl there and simply couldn’t leave her behind. Now both are safe with us.
But now comes the expensive part — vet care, vaccines, deworming, flea treatment, and spay.

This is what happens when rescue becomes more than just saving a dog. ❤️

At D&A Animal Rescue, our mission is to give dogs a second chance seniors, medical cases, large dogs, small dogs, any breed. We believe every dog deserves safety, care, love, and the opportunity to just be a dog again.

These dogs all came from different backgrounds. Some were chained, some lived in fear, and some had no idea how to socialize or even be around other dogs.

With patience, structure, time, and the chance to finally feel safe, everything can change.
And then you get moments like this . Dogs running, playing, and simply enjoying life together.

This is D&A Animal Rescue. This is why we do what we do. 🐾❤️

One of the most beautiful things about rescuing a scared dog is the day you realize they’re no longer afraid of your touch.

You can finally reach out to pet them without them flinching, jumping away, or peeing out of fear. And then, little by little, they start leaning into your hand… actually enjoying being petted. 🥹❤️

Watching a dog realize that a hand can bring love instead of fear is such a beautiful thing. 🐾❤️

We had to rush our senior rescue dog to the vet. She was acting normally, but when we took her outside to potty, she suddenly began running in circles, shaking, and losing her balance. She also doesn’t want to eat.
As you know, we rescue many senior dogs, and this is the hardest part watching them become sick. We are extremely sad and nervous as we wait for a diagnosis.

Just another beautiful day with our rescue dogs. ❤️🐾

Look at these precious babies walking together so peacefully, just enjoying the moment and finally enjoying their rescue life.

Large dogs are unfortunately overlooked so often, and people truly don’t know what they are missing. They are loyal, hilarious, affectionate, gentle, and some of the biggest sweethearts you will ever meet.

They don’t ask for much. They just want to feel safe, be loved, and have someone to call their own. And once they love you, they give you their whole heart. ❤️

Every one of these dogs has a story, but today they are safe. Today they are happy. Today they can simply be dogs.

Please don’t overlook the big ones. Sometimes the biggest dogs have the biggest hearts. 🐾❤️

Dixie had surgery today to remove her tumor, and she was so brave. She is now recovering. Please send our sweet girl lots of love and good thoughts. ❤️‍🩹
