Adoption Fees:
Our adoption fees range from $300–$500, depending on the dog.

FurBabies Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization rescuing small dogs from Charlotte, NC and surrounding area shelters that come in as strays or have been surrendered and were neglected, abused and need TLC. 🐾 FurBabies Animal Rescue – South Charlotte, NC

Our Mission
FurBabies Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to saving the lives of small dogs in and around Charlotte, NC. We rescue abandoned, stray, neglected, and owner-surrendered dogs and give them a second chance at life through medical care, safe housing, and loving foster homes, until they find their forever families. What We Do:
Every dog that comes into our care receives:
✔️ A full medical evaluation
✔️ Vaccinations (Distemper, Parvo, Rabies, Bordetella)
✔️ Any necessary medical treatment
✔️ Spay/neuter & microchipping
✔️ Food, grooming, and daily care

We also take time to understand each dog’s personality so we can match them with the right home and set them up for long-term success. This fee helps cover the cost of medical care, spay/neuter, grooming, medications, and food provided while in our care. Where Our Dogs Stay:
Our rescues are cared for in pre-approved foster homes or at Buddy’s Bed & Biscuit kennels in Matthews, NC, where they receive love, structure, and the attention they deserve while waiting for adoption. How You Can Help:
We rely on our community to continue saving lives:
🐶 Foster – Open your home temporarily and change a life
🏡 Adopt – Give a dog their forever home
💛 Donate – Help cover medical care, food, and supplies

As a nonprofit, we operate primarily through donations. Your support allows us to take in more dogs and provide the care they need to heal and thrive.

❤️ Sometimes, We Ask You to “Use Your Imagination” Here's why...

When you are looking at dogs in rescue, it can be difficult to see beyond what is right in front of you. Many of the dogs who come into our care are scared, stressed, underweight, poorly groomed, or simply not looking or feeling their best. They may not yet look like the happy, healthy dogs we know they can become.

That’s why sometimes we ask our potential adopters to “use your imagination.”

Very few dogs arrive in rescue looking as beautiful, healthy, and confident as they will after receiving good nutrition, veterinary care, grooming, patience, love, and—perhaps most importantly—a safe and loving home.

There is also something else we hope adopters will consider.
Whenever possible, we believe it is best for a rescued dog to go directly from the shelter or their current situation into their forever home. Every transition can be stressful. If a dog spends a month or two in a foster home, they may finally begin to relax, trust their new people, learn a routine, and feel secure—only to experience another major change when they are moved again to their forever home.

For some dogs, that can feel like another loss.

Of course, foster homes are incredibly important, and sometimes they are absolutely necessary. They give us the opportunity to learn about a dog, address medical needs, and prepare them for adoption. But when we have a good potential forever home willing to give a dog the time, patience, and love they need to blossom, we don't always want to delay that transition simply because the dog isn't yet at their best.

So, when you look at a rescue dog and we say “use your imagination,” we aren't asking you to overlook their needs or pretend they are something they aren't. We are asking you to imagine what they might look like and, more importantly, who they might become when they finally have the security, care, and love they've been missing.

Below are a few of our former rescues—before and after—to show you exactly what we mean. ❤️
Please remember: All of these dogs are already in their forever homes. These photos are simply FurBabies own examples of the incredible transformation that can happen when a dog is given a chance.

Sometimes, the dog you fall in love with isn't the dog you see in the first picture.

Sometimes, you have to use your imagination to see the dog they are waiting to become. 🐾
