Workforce Solutions Lower Rio Grande was honored to welcome approximately 60 college-bound students participating in the VAMOS program. Our Business and Relations Manager shared information about the many no-cost workforce services and resources available to help students as they pursue higher education and prepare for successful careers.
From career exploration and job search assistance to workforce training opportunities and employer connections, we're committed to helping students turn their educational goals into lifelong career success. Thank you to the Valley Alliance of Mentors for Opportunities and Scholarships - VAMOS organization for allowing us to be part of these students' journey. We are proud to announce the award of a $150,000 Texas Industry Partnership (TIP) Grant from the Texas Workforce Commission in partnership with The PossAble Dream Foundation and The PossAble Dream Adult High School. 🙌
This investment will provide workforce training for 22 students preparing for careers as HVAC Technicians and Medical Assistants—two occupations that continue to be in high demand across the Rio Grande Valley. 🩺🛠️
By equipping students with industry-recognized training, technical skills, and workforce readiness, this partnership is helping build a stronger regional talent pipeline while opening doors to sustainable, family-supporting careers for local residents. 💪
