Well, this was a fun surprise today. 😊

Thanks to Crossing Broad for catching up with me about life after CBS 3. I loved my years in television, and I’ll always be grateful for that chapter of my life. But stepping away also gave me something I didn’t realize I needed at the time - the freedom to slow down, be more present with my family, and eventually figure out what I wanted the next chapter to look like.

And maybe that’s part of what shaped the way I think about Luxury Living today.

To me, luxury has never been about the price of a house. It’s about creating a life and a home that you genuinely love. It’s having a place where your family gathers, where memories are made, and where you feel completely yourself.

Luxury isn’t where you live… it’s how you live. ❤️

Turns out, I’m still telling stories. These days, I just get to tell the stories of homes, neighborhoods and the people who make them special.

And yes… apparently Costco was an important part of my journey. 😂

"I thoroughly enjoyed it, to be honest, when I first stepped away. I loved my freedom. It was just… freedom. It felt so good. But I found myself at Costco all the time (laughs). I would be at Costco, and that was living the dream for me at the moment. Because it was so different than what I was used to. I was just enjoying being a homemaker and making my own schedule." "One of the things I did right away was I went out and got Lasik surgery. Because I couldn’t (do the recovery while working in television). You had to wear goggles for a while, and I just didn’t have time to do it. But yeah, I went out and got Lasik right away and it was great. And then I could see. And I was thinking, “Gosh, if only I could see the teleprompter now, it could have been so much better.“' Barnett now works in real estate and enjoys the storytelling and marketing side of the business, helping people envision themselves in a new home. Labor Day is a good reminder to appreciate the people who keep things moving, at work, at home, and everywhere in between.

We’re grateful for the hard work, long hours, and dedication that go into building businesses, strengthening communities, and creating the places we call home. Today, we’re taking a moment to recognize and celebrate all of it.
