🏛️ Tonight at the City of Melbourne City Council Meeting

Local government is where so many decisions that directly impact our everyday lives are made, from public safety and infrastructure to economic development, neighborhoods, parks, transportation, and the future of our community.

The Melbourne City Council meets every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month, and I encourage residents to get involved.

If you have never attended a City Council, County Commission, or School Board meeting, make plans to attend one. Come see your local government in action. Learn how decisions are made. Ask questions. Meet your elected officials. Most importantly, make sure your voice is part of the process.

Civic engagement is more than voting. It is staying informed, showing up, speaking up, and helping shape the community we call home.

I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the residents of Melbourne and to work alongside community members and leaders who care deeply about our city's future.

🇺🇸🎶 FLASHBACK AMERICANA: Celebrating 250 Years Through Music! 🎶🇺🇸

America is celebrating its 250th birthday, and what better way to celebrate our nation’s story than through the music that helped define generations?

One of the highlights of the Florida League of Cities Annual Conference was FLASHBACK Americana, an entertaining journey through the decades featuring some of America’s greatest music. From Motown and soul to the unforgettable sounds that had generations singing and dancing, it was a great reminder of how music connects our history, culture, and people.

Of course, Motown was one of my favorite parts! 🎤🎵 It makes you want to get up and dance!

It was great sharing the evening with municipal leaders and friends from across Florida.

Conferences are about learning and leadership, but they are also about relationships, fellowship, and celebrating the things that bring us together.

As we commemorate America 250, may we celebrate where we have been, recognize how far we have come, and continue working together toward an even stronger future.

From City Hall to Downtown Melbourne!

What a great celebration of culture, community, and the arts in the City of Melbourne!

On Tuesday, August 11th, the City of Melbourne, FL - City Council’s presented a proclamation recognizing August 11 as World Steelpan Day to the Panatics Steel Orchestra. They played a steel drum song at the beginning of the city council meeting.

Then they brought the unmistakable sound and energy of the steelpan to the first ever Small Town Fridays Family Fest, presented by Melbourne Main Street.

This is what makes Melbourne special. Honoring culture. Supporting the arts. Bringing families together. Creating experiences in downtown and celebrating the diversity that strengthens community.

Culture + Community + Downtown = A Better Melbourne. ❤️
