Thom Yorke turns 58 today. Here’s a Chicago room in Radiohead’s story.

Radiohead played Theatre in June 2006. The landmark Adler & Sullivan theater opened in 1889 and still welcomes music fans to its remarkable auditorium. October 7 marks Yorke’s birthday; this is a stop in the band’s history, not the site of an October 7 anniversary show.

🫧 MEMPHO ARTIST SPOTLIGHT ~ SIERRA HULL 🫧

Virtuoso mandolinist, six-time Grammy-nominated artist, groundbreaking songwriter & one of bluegrass & Americana’s most dynamic voices Sierra Hull is headed to Memphis for Mempho Music Festival!

A pioneer in acoustic music, Hull has performed on iconic stages like Carnegie Hall, the Grand Ole Opry, the White House and she can now add Radians Amphitheater at Memphis Botanic Garden to that list!

Don’t miss her set on Sunday 10/11 at 3:15 on the Garden Stage.

Recognized for her acclaimed albums “A Tip Toe High Wire” (2025), “25 Trips” (2020) and “Weighted Mind” (2016), she’s also a 7-time IBMA Mandolin Player of the Year - the first woman to ever receive this honor.

Hailing from Byrdstown, Tennessee, Hull’s innovative sound is deeply rooted in bluegrass yet continually pushes boundaries.

And always up for a musical challenge, when the FreshGrass Institute commissioned her to write a “bluegrass concerto” ahead of their 2023 event, she didn’t hesitate for a reason to add “composer” to her multi-hyphenate title.

She penned a three-movement piece, combining through-composed ideas & arranged parts, while also leaving room for improvisational magic, a key ingredient to any bluegrass instrumental.

Hull & her world-class band—Avery Merritt, Erik Coveney, Mark Raudabaugh, & Shaun Richardson—initially entered the studio to record "The Movements" right after performing the collection at FreshGrass for the first time, but a busy tour schedule & finishing up “A Tip Toe High Wire” put the three new pieces on the back burner.

But thankfully, only for a short while!

In April 2026, she & her band released a crisp studio recording of her bluegrass concerto simply dubbed “The Movements”.

Sierra is the first female artist with a Gibson signature mandolin & a Tennessee Governor’s Distinguished Arts Award recipient!

🫧 MEMPHO ARTIST SPOTLIGHT~ MAGGIE ROSE 🫧

It's officially MEMPHO Week here in Memphis & DittyTV Concert Series Alum & Grammy nominee Maggie Rose can finally scratch playing Mempho Music Festival off her Bucket List!

Maggie will hit the Garden Stage at Radians Amphitheater at Memphis Botanic Garden on Sat 10/10 at 4pm!

Her latest album, “Half Moon”, out now via One Riot Records , reveals the rare magic of hard-won momentum meeting a creative spirit in peak bloom.

A bold artistic statement that embraces transformation, vulnerability & joy, “Half Moon “finds Rose at the height of her creative powers.

Across 10 richly crafted songs, she blends Americana, soul, rock & cinematic pop into an album that is as emotionally resonant as it is sonically satisfying.

Produced by acclaimed collaborators LAWRENCE ROTHMAN (Amanda Shires) & Daniel Tashian (Kacey Musgraves), “Half Moon” builds on the momentum of Rose’s GRAMMYS recognition while showcasing a fearless evolution in her songwriting.

“Half Moon” took shape through a charmed & fluid process that began with Rose, Rothman & Tashian meeting up every few weeks to write in Tashian’s home studio, taking advantage of his abundant stash of instruments (e.g., Mellotron, upright bass, a saloon-style piano).

Rose, who was 8 months pregnant at the outset of the album’s creation, gave voice to the complexities of womanhood, the sacredness of her closest bonds & the thrill & overwhelm of expecting her first child.

Six months after the birth of her son Graham, Rose headed to the historic RCA Studio A in Nashville & recorded “Half Moon” with an elite lineup of over two dozen musicians, finding the album’s true cohesion through the kinetic energy of people gathering in a room & giving the songs their fullest life.

Maggie has played the Grand Ole Opry over 100 times & also hosts her own podcast, Salute The Songbird Podcast where she engages in candid conversations with her female musical heroes!

⚡ALBUM SPOTLIGHT- VERYGENTLY ⚡
"SORRY, SARAH" - 10/9 (Nettwerk Music Group)

verygently will release “SORRY, SARAH” on October 9th, fully stepping into the sound they’ve been honing on the road & across 2 previously released EPs.

The 11 tracks, out via Nettwerk Music Group, offer harmony-driven & emotionally direct indie rock with a generous dash of wry humor!

verygently is the collective spark of three established Nashville singer-songwriters—Drew Erwin, Joey Hendricks, & Tristan Bushman—whose longtime collaboration evolved into a band in 2024.

Blending sharp wit with emotional candor, the album transforms late-20s anxiety, heartbreak, & self-sabotage into a communal, cathartic, & surprisingly fun experience.

“This album is the most actualized version of verygently we’ve ever released,” shares the trio.

“After 2 years of being a band & touring, we feel like this is the closest we’ve gotten to capturing what it is that we do live. It’s 3 part harmony driven, & the writing process was heavily collaborative between the 3 of us versus the first 2 EPs that were more eclectic in the conception of the songs.”

Hendricks hopes the fun the band has making music together comes through on “SORRY, SARAH”

“This is the first project that we’ve captured what it is that we do best, which is having fun writing songs & harmonizing and singing together, that’s felt through the music,” he explains

Three distinct voices creating something greater together, what started out as friends playing a writers’ round has flourished into a fulfilling creative outlet for the singer-songwriters.

“We’ve become more collaborative & more of a unit, the more that we’ve played & written together,” Bushman says.

Erwin agrees with both bandmates. “I hope that people can see themselves & their friends existing in us, and in our music”

Check out this EXCLUSIVE PERFORMANCE of "I DON'T WANNA DIE"!

Come celebrate with verygently at their Nashville hometown album release show on October 11 at the EXIT/IN!

Lila Forde will release “Life Can Still Be Sweet” on 10/2!

Lila Forde isn’t trying to sound like anyone else. She’s too busy becoming herself.

With a voice steeped in jazz, soul, folk, & old-school American songcraft, the Seattle-born, LA-based singer/songwriter has always carried a deep sense of self through her music. But on her sophomore album that self comes into fuller focus: A little older, a little wiser, more instinctive, & more firmly in command of the world she’s building. “I think I have a really unique voice – not just my literal voice, but my proverbial voice,” Forde says. “In this day and age, & in this industry, there’s a lot of trend following, & there’s a lot of homogeny. I’m just really trying to be my own artist.”

That individuality has been there from the beginning.

Raised in a spiritual, music-filled household in Seattle, Forde grew up without a television & with her feet in the dirt – the daughter of a musician & meditation teachers who encouraged her to stay curious, grounded, & creatively free.

Warm, whimsical, & full of growing pains, the record captures Forde in the thick of her 20s – chasing songs, learning lessons, finding her people, & holding onto beauty even when life gets hard.

She describes this chapter as her “Roaring Twenties,” a sweet, scrappy era of development before everything gets bigger, heavier, & more complicated.

“I know I’m going to look back at this point in my life and recognize it as a really sweet era of development,” she says. “It feels very feminine & girly, but it’s sort of girl becomes woman in some ways. I’m learning the lessons that will cement me into womanhood.”

That is the gift of this record: Not false optimism, not denial, not sweetness as an escape from struggle, but sweetness as something that survives inside it. Lila Forde captures herself in motion – growing, grieving, laughing, loving, leading, & learning to trust the voice that has always been hers.

“I hope that listeners can see the world in that way,” Forde smiles. “That even when the walls are caving in, everything’s crashing down. You can still look up and realize that life can still be sweet.”
