Domino Effect Animal Rescue

💙 AVAILABLE TO ADOPT! 💙

If you're looking for an easy pup, Rocky is your guy! He is quiet and mellow, happy to spend his days relaxing and cuddling with his person.

Rocky gets along with everyone, but he is submissive and would do best in a home without young kids or hyper/dominant dogs that may pick on him.

Rocky is a 15 lb, 5 year old Yorkie mix (likely with Poodle or Schnauzer) and has very soft, fine hair that will need regular grooming. (Kristin Smith at KCS Dog Spaw did this cute cut and she'd be happy to groom him in the future!)

Rocky is already neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped so he can move in right away!

Do you all remember the pair of Chihuahuas we rescued at the beginning of the year? They were extremely fearful and had zero socialization. It's been a slow, but steady journey with them.

Marshall has made a bit more progress and has been introduced to wearing a collar and leash! He isn't thrilled about it, but these simple things help him integrate into the human world and we celebrate any small steps towards becoming a more secure, balanced pup!

Check out Benny in his new home!

His mom was looking for a playmate for her current pup, Scrappy, and she thought Benny sounded absolutely perfect. We scheduled a meeting the very next day and the two hit it off immediately! They started chasing each other around the house and Benny quickly found a basket full of toys for them to play with together. It was a perfect match!

Some adoptions just go so smoothly and Benny made himself at home right away. All that had to be done was to sign the paperwork and Benny had a new family!

His mom shares updates often and he is always so happy (and totally spoiled)! He loves his big brother, cuddling up in bed with his mom every night, and he gets to go on adventures to the dog park every week! We shared a video of his first park trip below.

We wish all adoptions were this easy! It is so obvious that Benny is exactly where he belongs and we are glad we could help him get there!

We are excited to announce another upcoming event! Mark your calendars for October 11th!

Archie is still available to adopt! 💙

He is pretty much the perfect pup, but he gets overlooked because of his age. Archie is 12 years old, but you would never guess that. Even though he enjoys curling up in a lap, he still plays and loves to explore. He would like to find a family where he can be someone's travel buddy even if it's just a trip to a restuarant, coffee shop, or a walk around the park. He loves riding in the car. Plus, Archie is friendly with everyone and a gentleman everywhere he goes, so it's easy to have him tag along.

Archie is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, housebroken, crate trained, walks well on a leash, and gets along with dogs, cats, and kids.

If you'd like more info about Archie or want to submit an application to adopt him, please visit our website at www.dominoeffectanimalrescue.org

We haven't been able to share much on social media lately, but we have had some great adopters recently!

First off, Cody now has an amazing new family! They reached out to us after one of their kitties had passed away. Their other cat was so stressed without her brother, she cried and paced around the house looking for him. When she started obsessively licking her fur to the point of making herself bald, they knew they had to help her. They started looking for a new kitty sibling so she didn't have to be alone. Cody was exactly who they were looking for!

When we arrived with our beautiful boy, his family had set up a whole room just for him with toys and a cat tree to give him a safe space to adjust before meeting his new big sister. It was heartwarming to see how much effort they put into making him feel comfortable. But, it didn't take long before Cody realized he was home.

Cody (renamed Dale) gets along great with his new siblings and is loving his new life sunbathing, playing, eating and cuddling! Everything a cat wants!

Not only has his kitty sister stopped crying and licking herself bald, he has helped his entire family heal from their grief. Dale has brought them so much joy with his silly antics and they told us they couldn't imagine life without him. :)

Courtesy post!

We are unable to take in animals right now, but we get emails every day from people needing to surrender their pets.

They are all in urgent need of a new home! Read more about each of them under their photo.

Email us at [email protected] if you're interested in adopting any of them.

Each year, we post safety tips for 4th of July since it's the day most pets are lost!

As a reminder, keep your pets inside (do not bring them to any fireworks show)! Close all gates, windows and doors. Play music or turn the TV volume up to help drown out the booming sounds. And, make sure your pet is wearing an identification tag as well as microchipped in the event that they do get out!

Animal Friends of the Valleys is giving out FREE microchips this week and there's still time to get one before the holiday! No appt necessary, just walk in!
