Two years, 100 gigs. Ready to start year 3!
Two years ago today, four musicians took a stage at News Restaurant for the very first time as Cruisin’ 8th.
What started as one night of music has turned into two incredible years, 100 gigs, countless memories, and more good times than we could’ve imagined.
We’re grateful for every venue that gave us a stage, every friend who showed up, every voice that sang along, every dance floor filled, and every person who’s been riding this road with us since day one.
From that first night at News Restaurant on May 24, 2024… to today — thank you for being part of this journey.
Two years down.
Still cruisin’. 🚘🎸
Even the dog wanted to get in on the action!

Let’s take a moment to remember what today is REALLY about…
On this day, we honor the brave men and women who gave everything for our freedom.
Because of their sacrifice, we get to enjoy the blessings we too often take for granted.
We remember. We honor. We are forever grateful.

It was really great catching up recently with two old friends, Wesley and Robbie Pickens. Some of you longtime Meridian folks may remember Wesley played bass in my very first band back in 1985. Back then, it was a simple 3-piece lineup — me on guitar, Chris Courtney on drums, and Wesley holding down the bass.
Crazy how music reconnects people and brings back so many good memories from those early days. Grateful for friendships that have stood the test of time.
