Come explore and print tropical leaves and flowers with cyanotype sunlight printing at The Kampong. The cyanotype is one of the earliest photographic printing processes invented in 1842 by British scientist Sir John Herschel and early used by botanist Anna Atkins in 1843 for her algae studies. The cyanotype process uses a UV ray-sensitive solution, which when exposed to the sun turns in a chemical process into ferric ferrocyanide most known as cyan blue.

We will follow Anna Atkins path to create beautiful images and be inspired by the natural beauty and astonishing shapes of tropical plants located in one of Miami’s most stunning gardens

Suitable for ages 16 and up. All materials included. Everyone will leave with several beautiful botanical cyanotype prints.
