September 11 showed us what human beings are capable of in the hardest of circumstances.

We saw courage without time to prepare. Service without expectation of recognition. Ordinary people making extraordinary decisions because someone else needed them.

Twenty-five years later, those examples still challenge us, and the losses still grieve us.

May the stories of those who sacrificed, served and put others before themselves on September 11, 2001, remind us to live with greater courage, compassion and purpose.

As we remember, let us resolve to carry their example forward.
