Strong After Cancer
Empowering cancer survivors through education and cancer prevention strategies via lifestyle modifications.
Sharing my journey of strength and resilience post-cancer treatment. 💪🎗️
Imagine getting to your seat ready to watch a movie and this is the view 😭😂
Would you say something or open your book?
Let’s stop treating moving after cancer as something that’s an all-or-nothing. 💪🏾
As a cancer researcher and cancer survivor, I know that knowing the recommendations and having the energy to meet them are two different things.
Some days, movement looks like lifting weights, running, or cycling. Other days, it’s a short walk or a few minutes between appointments. Start with what’s manageable for your body today, and build from there.
Exercise can support physical function, fatigue management, and quality of life after cancer. Your starting point does not have to look like someone else’s. 💝
Save this for the days you need a reminder, and follow for evidence-based lifestyle oncology.
What does movement look like for you today?

This was a day! I have never been this emotional even throughout my entire breast cancer journey. The love shown all day was incredible. Get ready for something powerful to be released very soon during breast cancer awareness month. 💝
“But it’s on PubMed, so NIH says it’s true.”
Not quite. 👀
PubMed is an incredible resource for finding scientific literature, but an article appearing there does not mean NIH produced it, funded it, or endorses its conclusions.
So when someone uses a PubMed screenshot to support a health claim, don’t stop at “there’s a study.”
Ask:
1. Who authored it?
2. What type of article is it?
3. And most importantly, does the claim actually match the data?
Scientific literacy isn’t about distrusting research. It’s about learning how to evaluate what the evidence actually supports.
This is the first in my series on understanding research and recognizing health misinformation.
Next up: Not all studies are created equal. ⏳
