Arts Connection is a nonprofit, cultural organization based in Miami-Dade County, presents interdisciplinary works from local and foreign artists and researchers. One of its main goals is to promote bodies of work aimed at helping the audience see the world from diverse and unique angles as well as offering creative approaches to the culture. Arts Connection works through providing support primarily for the development of new work by South Florida-based artists and researchers. we offer creative educational programs for students. Arts Connection is actively establishing extensive outreach programs that include partnerships with other organizations, universities, and social service agencies worldwide as well as promoting art. Arts Connection is essentially a cultural link that establishes alternative routes to explore fundamental topics facing contemporary society.

Tomorrow in Bogotá.
Andreína Fuentes Angarita joins Dr. Lourdes Ramos, President and CEO of the Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA), and Eduardo Salazar for a conversation about the museum’s expansion project.
Founded in 1996 in Long Beach, MOLAA is the only museum in the United States devoted exclusively to modern and contemporary art from Latin America and its diaspora. The expansion proposes more than a new building: it asks what a museum is for once architecture stops being a container for collections.
Andreína Fuentes Angarita and Eduardo Salazar both sit on the museum’s International Committee.

Esa es la apuesta de la primera Residencia Arte-Pedagógica de Escolarte en alianza con Arts Connection Foundation. Un artista-pedagogo acompañará a jóvenes de bachillerato en un proceso situado en su propio entorno: experimentar, investigar y disfrutar el camino creativo, con la sensibilidad y la expresividad como punto de partida.
Es una residencia para acompañar un proceso de creación que desemboca en un trabajo personal, singular y auténtico de cada joven.
Buscamos uno o dos artistas-pedagogos de Maracaibo. El trabajo es remunerado por horas. El portafolio es opcional: valoramos, sobre todo, tu compromiso con el proceso pedagógico y artístico.
La convocatoria cierra a finales de noviembre y la residencia arranca en enero.

Secondary education talks a great deal about comprehensive education and integrated projects. It rarely talks about art as the axis that connects them.
That is the premise behind Escolarte'’ first Art-Pedagogical Residency, in partnership with Arts Connection Foundation. An artist-educator will accompany high school students through a process rooted in their own surroundings: experimenting, researching, and enjoying the creative path, with sensibility and expressiveness as the starting point.
It is a residency for accompanying a process of creation, one that ends in work that is personal, singular, and each student'’ own.
Escolarte is looking for one or two artist-educators from Maracaibo. The work is paid hourly. A portfolio is optional: what matters most is commitment to the pedagogical and artistic process.
Applications close at the end of November. The residency begins in January.

Érika Ordosgoitti Ericka Ordoñez — Me abro la cabeza (2013)
The poem that structures this piece describes a very concrete route: walking along the rim of a volcano, going down, rolling in the dirt, trying to climb back up with the airways sealed, breathing through the soles of the feet, running, lying down and, finally, splitting the head open. It is not a linear narrative but three linked movements: immersion, suffocation, rupture.
Ordosgoitti turns the body into mineral matter. Stone, magma, sweat, the taste of metal. It is a strategy that depersonalizes and exposes at once, making the body object and subject in the same gesture. The voice narrates an inner state while the body on camera performs an action that runs parallel to it rather than illustrating it.
The climax arrives as a small image: a needle pecking at the skull. After the geological scale of everything before it, that minimal, precise violence is what lands hardest.
The artist has described the feeling of having nowhere to stick her head out within institutional spaces. Read that way, the title stops being only a physical gesture.

A doctoral study on Venezuelan artistic exile was presented in Paris last Thursday.
Emilio Piñango, a PhD candidate in artistic and cultural history at Université Sorbonne Nouvelle, presented his paper at the international congress held each year by the Association pour le développement de l’histoire culturelle and the International Society for Cultural History. This year’s theme: identities, mobility, migrations.
His research draws on interviews conducted since 2024 with Venezuelan visual artists who left the country during the first two decades of the century — among them Erika Ordosgoitti, Deborah Castillo, Alexander Apostol, Teresa Mulet, Sergio Rangel Penzo, Violette Bule and Andreína Fuentes Angarita.
What the work shows: most of these departures were never planned.
Miami’s art season isn’t a convention: it’s a climate. Arts Connection Foundation opens the Art & Finance series with Andreína Fuentes Angarita, who arrived in Florida just as the ecosystem was taking shape.

Esta residencia no busca producir una obra de arte terminada, sino detonar un proceso: que el joven observe su entorno, encuentre algo que desee expresar y se atreva a darle voz.
Esta iniciativa se fundamenta en los diez años de labor de Escolarte uniendo el arte y la educación, y sirve como antesala a la décima edición del *Salón Escolarte* y su convocatoria anual: *Imaginarios del Entorno*.
Dos organizaciones, una convicción compartida: el arte tiene su lugar en las escuelas —es parte integral del desarrollo de los jóvenes— y la comunidad artística debe colaborar para fomentar este crecimiento.

Arts Connection Foundation is joining forces with Escolarte to launch its first Artistic-Pedagogical Residency: an artist-educator will work with school communities in Maracaibo, guiding students through their own creative processes.
This residency is not aimed at producing a finished work of art, but rather at sparking a process: a young person observes their surroundings, finds something they wish to express, and dares to give it a voice.
This initiative builds on ten years of Escolarte’s work uniting art and education, and serves as a lead-up to the tenth edition of the *Salón Escolarte* and its annual open call: *Imaginarios del Entorno* (Imaginings of the Environment).
Two organizations, one shared conviction: art belongs in schools—it is an integral part of youth development—and the artistic community must collaborate to foster this growth.
The open call launches next week.
