LYON Free Fire — a Mexican-based esports group — has been crowned the Free Fire champion at the 2026 Esports World Cup after an incredible record-breaking performance in Paris with special MVP, El Niño de oro, Benjamín “gamezk1ng” Honores 🎮🔥 They are the first Latin American group to bring a world title to Latin America!

The team secured the final Booyah, earned the $300,000 grand prize, had a record 33 eliminations, and collected 1,000 Club Championship points.

The Miami-raised Saturday Night Live star became the first Latino to host the ESPYs in more than 25 years, bringing his Cuban-Dominican pride, fearless comedy and unmistakable Miami energy to one of the biggest nights in sports.
