Sad to say, but this is something I deal with too often.

Don’t get me wrong, I was skeptical since the beginning so I made sure to stand firm on my process (which all creatives should do no matter the commission/project). I had continued the conversation with this person just so see how it would end and I’m glad I did. I feel like this is a great way to help other creatives spot red flags early on before they waste their time and resources.

1. Started off with a very vague inquiry.
2. Says it’s a gift but later says she’s looking for something for her home… which is it? Lmao
3. Asks for payment options upfront before getting any details about pricing.
4. Says they looked through my page, love my art but asks for a style I do not specialize in. 🥴
5. The address they sent me was wrong.
6. They keep asking for me to send the payment options after I mentioned that I will send an invoice after the agreement was signed.
7. Says she didn’t get the agreement but check the screenshot of where it said I sent it via Adobe Sign and check the time stamp of when she viewed it vs when she said she didn’t get it 😂
8. Asks me to send it as an attachment because it’ll be ‘easier’ to open and sign. (Dude, Adobe sign is all prepped for you to put in your e-sig & date… it doesn’t get easier than that)

I ended the conversation after that & blocked them. And then my email notified me that someone tried to log into my email account 😂 security flagged them and blocked them, I had to change my password.

Crazy world we live in. But make sure you protect yourself and your business at all cost!

No agreement, no deposit, no services.

I loved helping Miss Mo get this together for her event. She showed me the AI flyer she created and asked me to make her something different.. She originally wanted a banner so she can display her sponsors but it was out of her budget. She voiced to me that all extra funds she had, she allocated it for the girls 🩷 I suggested a poster for her because it’s affordable, easier to obtain, and quicker to print.

Did I mention I loved helping her with this? I loaned her an easel to display her poster for her event and paid for the poster frame, all I asked was for her to cover the cost of the poster print. Sometimes it’s not about the money for me, I just love what I do and I love helping people who do things with purpose. & we love doing for the kids! 🩷

“Choosing to Stay”

I didn’t record any footage of this piece today. Honestly, I was in my head about a lot of things and just picked up the brush and started painting.

We all go through tough battles & mentally we deal with a lot. But through it all, there’s no better feeling than being chosen by someone who wants to stay while you’re sorting out all of your emotions. Choosing to stay is the most reassuring thing you can do for someone.

I know I’m not the easiest person to deal with but thank you to those who chose to stay.

Building a brand from the ground up is hard work. There’s so much that goes into it! And it’s all possible without AI too!
