Cali_FID Parrot & Exotics Rescue Sanctuary
Share
Established in May 2011, Cali_FID Rescue is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to aiding exotic pets.
Supported entirely by donations, our volunteer-run organization operates out of foster homes in Modesto, CA. We receive exotic animals ( not dogs, not cats, not wildlife) from the local city and county run animal shelters, vet clinics, pet stores and private citizens. All animals are evaluated for medical and behavioral issues. The sanctuary is for those deemed too medically fragile or too behaviorally unsuitable for life as pets.
Daily chores with the tortoises.... don't always go as planned.
Shelly - Sulcata tortoise, Rio - Yellow foot tortoise and Athena - Red foot tortoise.
Yes, they have separate areas, but I was cleaning and feeding so the gates were unlatched.
All of them like to go into each others yards. Shelly especially loves to chase them and the chickens around.

We always have so much going on this time of the year!
Jen and Becky along with other volunteers will be at Dell'Osso Family Farm for the month of October. This is one of many ways we can fundraise with our community. W will be there up until Halloween!
If you're looking for something to do with the family, head on out! Lots of good food, vendors, rides, games, and other things to keep the family busy! The farm will be open to the public soon.
Due to this, and limited volunteers, we will NOT be at Petco on Saturdays for the month of October to hold adoption events.
Our website is being worked on, so right now,

Peter - Sulcata tortoise is supervising us, as we put in a new pond for the aquatic turtles.
Sadly this beautiful Bearded dragon was abandoned when his owner moved away.
It's unknown how long he was in the apartment alone without water, food or heat.
We tried, we really had hoped things would turn out better.
As soon as we received him, he got a warm bath, but he never opened his eyes and ultimately passed away in my arms.
