During the first month of Adult Daily Living class, students have focused on developing and applying essential life skills, including transferring daily living skills to workplace settings and hobbies, appropriately asking for assistance, using their individual strengths to contribute to a team, and learning important personal information.
It has been wonderful to see students actively support one another, collaborate as a team, and engage enthusiastically in classroom activities. Their willingness to help their peers while enjoying the learning process has been truly impressive. We look forward to continuing to build these important skills throughout the year. Keep up the great work and keep learning!

This week's chore of the week is Washing Windows! We used a spray, rag, and squeegee. This is a great transferable skill for school, home, or future employment. Please be sure to have your student helping at home to help increase their independence.

Last week in Daily Living, we learned all about vacuuming and the different kinds of vacuums available. All of the students practiced vacuuming up different things on the floor in the hallway. They all did fantastic. Please continue encouraging your student to practice these transferable skills at home. Remember the goal is to increase independence!

This week in Daily Living, students are working on efficiently cleaning surfaces. This is a skill used in the school, job sites, and can be used at home. Transferable skills are so important to learn and teach to create that independence. Please have your student helping at home to clean surfaces! Have a great weekend!

Daily Living is starting off strong, learning a new chore each week to create independence at work or at home! Please ask your student to help with the new learned chores at home. They all did great, can't wait to see what else they can independently do.
This is a reminder that tomorrow, September 16th, is a 1/2 day of school for students. Dismissal will be at 12:15pm.
