If you ever ran a folder through one of our apps, you know this feeling.

388 messy samples: five formats, five sample rates, dead air, fake stereo, levels everywhere. We chose the settings on camera, dropped the folder on SoundEdit and pressed Return. 1.2 seconds later all 388 were done. That's real speed, on a 2021 MacBook Pro.

What each file got:
• 24-bit WAV at 44.1 kHz, through a mastering-grade sample-rate converter
• the root note SoundEdit hears, written where samplers read it
• mono only where left and right carry the same sound
• silence trimmed from start and end
• its peak set to −1 dB
• a name from a template that never overwrites another file

Your originals stay exactly as they were. Every result is a new file in a Converted folder beside them, with a report of each file's level and the gain it got.

The music is made from the same sounds, and every one of them went through SoundEdit's own tools, from the tempo-matching to the filter.

SoundEdit is the new audio editor from Audiofile Engineering. Built for the Mac, played like an instrument. One-time purchase. No subscription. No iLok. Coming soon.

Which of our apps did you start with?

One drum loop. Chopped. Played. Remembered.

SoundEdit has been two years in the making. It started with a conversation at NAMM 2024, and it grew into the audio editor we wanted to use ourselves.

Every hit you hear is a slice of a single drum loop, triggered from pads. Then the app quits, opens again, and remembers everything. The name at the end? Drawn by sound.

Longtime Audiofile users, this one's for you. Everyone else, welcome.

Coming soon to the Mac. Sound on.

Happy 909 day.

One bar of a TR-909 demo goes in. What comes out is a beat.

Listen, crop, loop, chop it into slices, drop the kick through the floor, EQ it, reverse it, and then hand the whole thing to a sequencer: 125 → 140 → 160, stretching live, pitch held. Then play the slices back as something new.

Every number on screen is the number you're hearing. Nothing here is a mockup.

The 909 is Samples From Mars' demo loop — thank you for letting it work this hard (their 909 is on sale for 909 day).

SoundEdit. An instrument, not a DAW. From Audiofile Engineering. Soon.

So: what's the first sound you'd throw at it?

Fidelia — the Mac audiophile player since 2011 — is now on iPhone.

Your collection — FLAC to DSD — bit-perfect to your USB DAC, gapless, on the same engine and processors as the Mac player.

And the things nobody else brings to the phone:
· CarPlay, with presets
· Bridge — your Mac's library synced over your own Wi-Fi, nothing in a cloud
· Speaks Lyrion and UPnP: your server's library beside your files, and any streamer on the network as an output
· Hosts your own AUv3 plug-ins

No subscription. No account. No algorithm.
Free to try on the App Store — link in bio. One purchase unlocks it.

Music you own, everywhere you are.

The creator of the excellent, hand-made album art display .rocks was kind enough to send us a unit to build support into Fidelia.

And yes, that is a full Fidelia player running the Audiofile Engine on an iPhone.

Keep an eye out for both.

Thanks, Tobias!

Fidelia. In your car.

Same engine, same signal path, four presets on the deck for playlists or stations. It's with App Review now.

What's the first record you'd put on?
