Today, we pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and to honor the courage of the heroes who ran toward danger when others were trying to escape.

As a retired first responder, this day carries a deep and personal meaning for me. It is a reminder of sacrifice, service, strength, and the unity our nation showed in one of its darkest moments.
