Dig into the profound, original Hebrew layers of the Book of Ruth. Did you know Bethlehem means 'House of Bread'? Yet Elimelech chose to leave the House of Bread during a trial to sojourn in Moab—a place of compromise.

Modern Day Ruth, along with The Kinman's Promise, is wonderful for a Bible study, small group, or deep personal quiet time.

Love Was the Beginning of Our Story. God’s Redemption Became the Rest of It.

Thirty-eight years ago today, on August 6, 1988, we stood before God and promised forever.

Twenty-one years ago, death interrupted what we were building—but it never erased what we shared.

Today, I don’t celebrate how our story ended. I celebrate that God allowed it to begin.

Thank you, Tim, for loving me so well, for giving me a lifetime of memories, and for showing our boys what sacrificial love looks like.

The Lord has been faithful through every chapter of my journey. His redemption didn’t replace our story—it carried me through it.

Until we meet again. ❤️✨

Turn up the volume!!!!!

🎧 Sneak peek: the wait is almost over.

For over two decades, this story lived in journals, in a kitchen table Bible study, in the quiet places where Ruth 3:11 became more than a verse — it became a promise.

This fall, Modern Day Ruth will be heard, not just read.

I'm so grateful to have Emily Peterson bringing these pages to life through Siel Sounds Studio. Her voice is going to carry Ruth's story of forgiveness, redemption, and destiny straight into your car, your kitchen, your morning walk.

Audiobook coming Fall 2026. 🎧

Twenty-one years ago today, heaven welcomed him home.

I still know the sound of his laugh. The way his arms felt around me. That smile that could fill a whole room. Twenty-one years, and my heart still reaches for him in the quiet moments and I’ve decided that longing isn’t a wound. It’s love that refuses to quit.

Timmy, you were my beginning. The boy with the mustache who swept me off my feet and married me. The daddy who loved his boys dearly. The man standing waist-deep in the water, baptizing his own son. You poured your life into us, and not one drop of it was wasted.

Because that’s the truth I’ve learned in the years since: God wastes nothing. Not the love. Not the laughter. Not even the grief. He has taken every piece of our story and woven it into something I never could have written myself.

So today I’m not just remembering, but I’m celebrating. Because you’re not gone, you’re ahead. You’re Home. You’re more alive right now than you’ve ever been, in the presence of our Savior who called you by name. And one day the trumpet will sound, and I will see that smile and those beautiful green eyes again.

Until then, I’ll keep telling the story. I’ll keep loving our boys, kissing our grandbabies, and preaching the goodness of a God who turns mourning into dancing.

Your story isn’t over, sweetheart. Neither is mine. We’re just in different chapters of the same book… and The Author (our Heavenly Father) is so, so, good. ❤️

“He will swallow up death forever; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces.” — Isaiah 25:8
