Bringing home your first Harlequin sheep is an exciting milestone, but starting your flock with confidence requires more than just a trailer and a fence. To help you navigate the process, Penny has shared a comprehensive new guide on our blog: The Essential New Buyer Checklist.
Whether you are a family looking for friendly companions or a fiber artist seeking high-quality wool, doing your homework is key to a successful start. In her latest post, Penny covers everything you need to know before the sheep even leave the breeder’s farm, including:
- Verifying official registration to protect the integrity of your investment.
- Essential questions to ask during the breeder interview.
- Visual verification of breed standards and health checks.
- Understanding spotting genetics and fleece nuances.
- Navigating financial agreements and transport logistics.
- Preparing your farm’s infrastructure for these unique miniature sheep.
At the Harlequin Sheep Society, we believe in the value of human connection and expert guidance. All of our registry services are handled directly by our dedicated team to ensure the highest level of integrity and personalized support. If you have questions about a registration or need help verifying a sheep’s pedigree, our team is here to help you personally: no automated dashboards or self-service portals required.
Ready to prepare for your new arrivals? Read Penny’s full checklist on our website at harlequinsheepsociety.org.
