On the twelfth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me, a song description for The Thin White Line

True Song Description:
[Thomas Jenson, a professional musician, feels like he is at the end of the road for his life, and decides to broadcast a livestream of himself committing su***de on the virtual network. Thomas feels absolutely unloved by all, including women he dates, his father, his friends (of which he feels like a nuisance), and his musical peers. He starts broadcasting live on Ramiku, a Japanese owned livestream site within the virtual space.

Meanwhile, his booking agent, Mariko Woodson, who has secretly harbored feelings for him for years, suddenly meets a homeless man in the street telling her that Thomas is in danger and "purpose is never lost." These exact words were the final words that Thomas' mother had told him on her death bed. Mariko initially doubts that Thomas is in danger but something about the man strikes her as heavenly. She turns around to see the man and he has suddenly disappeared without a trace. The divine aspect of the situation sinking in, Mariko races to Thomas' penthouse to save him...]

[A year after a life changing encounter with Jamal Fox near "upload day", Donovan Delia, former leader of futuristic cult Aetherspace, has renounced his ways and exposed his former cult for everything it was, to find that his own cult has denounced him and that the organizational structure has carried forward in hiding, with a staggering and surprising increase in unofficial membership from a section of the public who doesn't believe him. After dealing with legal battles from being prosecuted for many crimes, including fraud, Donavan is offered a deal: a complete pardon by Interpol and Hong Kong law enforcement agencies if he can track down one of many remnant sects operating in Neo Tokyo, rejoin their ranks in some capacity (with the intent of saying he was lying for cover of the organization), and spy on the cult as an informant for Interpol, with the goal of gathering evidence to take them down. Through former sources, Donovan hears that the specific remnant is on Tengoku (Japanese for "Heaven"), a man-made island off the shore of Neo Tokyo that was secretly funded by himself while he was leader and finished to completion.

Donovan takes travel with Jamal's sister Océane, whom he has made his own personal assistant. When he gets there, he is shocked to discover that the leader is an AI copy of himself, whom had formed a tribalistic hierarchy. He also discovers that all of the members had undergone the previous "upload" process and "transferred" their minds into artificial bodies. Donovan recalls a time that he authorized an AI imprint of his personality be copied in the event something happened to him; deep down he still somewhat doubts that the upload isn't real and wants to believe that it is.

He and the AI engage in a battle of wits...]

[Across the other side of Tokyo, another act of terror is being committed. An allegience of three gunmen with bombs strapped to their chests hold Asahi Robotics' CFO, Honda Hajime, hostage at a cancer clinic, having escorted him there under gunpoint. The three gunmen are Matsumura Shoji, a father of three and baseball fanatic; Higuchi Shichiro, a part-time actor and collector of old otaku memorabilia; and the leader, former Aetherspace member and Korean migrant Seok Myung Ki, a man who dreams of traveling the world with his wife. The three have suffered from stage 3 lung cancer for over a year, having gained it through unseen environmental hazards while working construction for a new wing of Asahi's headquarters. Having recently lost a court case suing Asahi Robotics, the cost of treatment is too much for them to handle.
