Another gorgeous Omaha sunset😍

06/19/2026

🌅Starting tonight, Omaha's sunset time will be after 9:00pm and will be this way until the 4th of July! Also, we will be averaging over 15 hours of daylight through the next 2+ weeks.

🌺🌷🌻 Are you proud of your yard or garden?? Share your photos with me! I would love to see them and post them to our newscast over the coming weeks.

I know a lot of us take pride and having a lush, green yard, or a colorful landscape. Plus, I need ideas on what to do for my own yard! 😂😂

(6/17) LOOKING AHEAD TO FATHER'S DAY WEEKEND - Have plans this weekend in Omaha? Be ready for the rain! The good news is it won't rain the whole weekend. There will be plenty of dry-time on Saturday until 4-6pm.

Saturday night looks VERY wet and we could see around 1.0" to 3.0 of rain through early Sunday, which may lead to flash flooding. A few severe storms may also be possible in central/southeast Nebraska, closer to near Kansas.

Sunday is trending a little drier now. Once the morning rain moves out by 9-10am, we should just be cloudy and milder.

(6/16) WINDY WEDNESDAY - It will be windy and very dry around Omaha on Wednesday. I would advise AGAINST using fire pits, and burning anything outdoors on Wednesday given the strong winds and dry air. Wildfire conditions will likely be elevated on Wednesday across all of Nebraska.

COMFY WEATHER! Not a lot of humidity to have to deal with over the next several says in Omaha. Dew points will be in the 40s/low 50s over the next several days. That's really quite something given that here in Omaha, it's usually "AIR YOU CAN WEAR" during the summer. Enjoy!

6/15 WHAT'S COMING TO OMAHA - High winds on Wednesday, and more storms over Father's Day weekend. Tuesday looks great! Wednesday? Not so much. It looks like Omaha will dodge the severe weather threat to the east. But, it will be a windy day with gusts around 45mph.

We also have a chance at more storms over Father's Day weekend, and a few could be stronger. We'll iron out the details on that later in the week, but plan for there to be some rain.

Just seems like we are in that weird cycle/pattern of storms here every weekend since Thanksgiving. Anyone else notice that?

Yep. Today feels like a Monday…I’m dropping everything, misplacing things. Usually, these are things that happen on a Tuesday for me.

(6/13 3:45pm) Severe Storm Watch until 11pm for neighborhoods south of Omaha/I-80. We will still have a chance at lightning and wind/hail-producing storms around Omaha, but the best severe weather ingredients are definitely south of Omaha heading into the evening. If you are at CWS or Savanna Bananas baseball in Lincoln, just be “weather aware”. I expect storms to be south of both metros by 8pm.

College World Series Weather for Saturday, June 13 - Stormy morning! If you're heading to any of the games later today, be ready for delays. I have the next round of storms beginning around 3-4pm.

All models have some sort of rain and maybe lightning during the 2nd half of afternoon game between Alabama & Oklahoma, with all models now also hinting at rain lingering in Omaha through 7 or 8pm. It does look like the SVR stuff will be well south of Omaha though.
