**RAPCF Member Reminder: Florida SB 606 Takes Effect Tomorrow, July 1, 2026**

Beginning tomorrow, Florida’s updated operations charge disclosure law goes into effect for public food service establishments.

Under SB 606, restaurants and food service businesses that add an automatic fee or required charge beyond the listed cost of food and beverage must clearly disclose that charge before the guest receives the bill. This may include items such as automatic gratuities, service charges, credit card surcharges, delivery fees, venue fees, or other required operational charges.

Members should take a moment today to review:

• Printed menus
• Digital menus
• Online ordering platforms
• Websites and mobile apps
• Event contracts
• Guest checks, bills, and receipts
• POS language and receipt formatting

The key takeaway is transparency. If a guest is required to pay an additional charge, that charge and its purpose should be clearly disclosed up front and properly itemized where required.

This is not about discouraging fees or operational charges. It is about making sure restaurants are communicating clearly with guests and staying compliant with Florida law.

As always, RAPCF encourages members to review the final requirements with their legal, accounting, POS, or compliance advisors to make sure their individual operation is fully prepared.
