Well⦠this wasnāt on my 2026 bingo card. š
The funny thing is, this didnāt actually start during meditation.
It started with a conversation.
Someone I work with someone I respect challenged me to look at a situation through a more compassionate lens. They didnāt criticize me or tell me I was wrong. They simply offered a different perspective.
At first I thought, āPffft⦠Iām compassionate.ā š
Then I sat with it.
A couple of days later, while I was meditating, it was like someone turned on a giant light switch.
For years Iāve thought I knew my purpose. I was convinced it had something to do with nutrition. Or art. Or teaching people how to ferment weird things in jars. š«š
Helping people? Absolutely.
But I may have been wrong about how.
Hereās the embarrassing partā¦
Iāve always considered myself empathetic, kind, and thoughtful. Compassion, though? Thatās been a work in progress. My default setting has historically been somewhere between, āWalk it off,ā and āPut your big girl panties on and letās figure this s**t out.ā š¤¦š¼āāļøš
Apparently the universe looked at me and saidā¦
āAww⦠thatās cute. We have other plans.ā
I realized I wasnāt drawn to my job because of the nutrition.
Nutrition got me through the doorā¦
The people are why Iām there.
Maybe Iām there to remind someone theyāre worthy.
Maybe Iām there to encourage them.
Maybe Iām there to help someone see what they canāt yet see in themselves.
And maybe⦠Iām there to learn compassion myself.
Iāve also started realizing that most people arenāt trying to hurt us.
Theyāre simply responding from what life has taught them. Just like our parents. Just like our coworkers. Just like us.
That thought alone has softened something in me.
A week ago I was convinced I was in the wrong place.
Now Iām wondering if itās exactly where I was supposed to be.
And if a few other people happen to feel a little more seen along the wayā¦
Well, thatās a pretty incredible bonus. ā¤ļø
Now donāt get me wrong⦠Iām sure the universe is already planning my next lesson. It has a slightly twisted sense of humor. š

This morningās walk reminded me why I love getting outside.
A winding path, a busy bee, a couple of beautiful butterflies, and a little reminder that slowing down helps you notice things you might otherwise miss.
Hope you find something beautiful today. šæšš¦

This morning I filled a few pages in this notebook.
I wasnāt writing a business plan.
I was writing down what I believe.
Somewhere between those pages, I realized something.
I donāt just want Simply Well to be about nutrition.
I want it to be a place that helps people slow down, stay curious, and notice the beauty in everyday life.
Sometimes that beauty is nourishing food.
Sometimes itās a bird singing outside your window.
Sometimes itās creating something with your own hands.
Sometimes itās found in the simplest, quietest moments.
Iām still figuring out exactly where this journey will take me, but one thing feels certainā¦
I want to help people notice.
šæ What have you noticed today?

You donāt need a full reset.
You just need a little preparation.
A few basics done ahead of time can change your entire week:
⢠cook one protein (chicken, ground beef, eggs)
⢠prep one carb (rice, potatoes, quinoa)
⢠wash and cut a few vegetables
⢠keep a healthy fat on hand (avocado, olive oil)
Thatās it.
No complicated recipes.
No starting over.
And also⦠itās okay if you donāt do all of this yourself.
Having support is part of consistency.
Even I keep prepared meals in my freezer for busy daysāIāve used options from Clean Eatz when Iām in a pinch.
It doesnāt have to be perfect to be effective.
Consistency comes from making things easier⦠not harder.
