You declutter. You fill the donation bags. You clear off the counters. And for a while, your home looks better. 🙌

But then . . . the clutter starts creeping back in.

That's because getting rid of stuff is only PART of decluttering.

For lasting change, you also need to change your relationship with your stuff.

Why do you keep things you don't use? Why is it so hard to say no to something that's free? Why do you buy something because it's a great deal? Why does guilt convince you to keep things you don't even want?

Until you understand what's behind those decisions, you can get rid of stuff today and find yourself surrounded by more stuff tomorrow.

That's one of the things we work on in Unjumbled. I don't just want to help you get rid of clutter. I want to help you think differently about what deserves space in your home so you can KEEP the peace you've worked so hard to create. 💖

Drop CHAT in the comments, and I'll send you a link to book time for us to talk. I'd love to hear what's going on in your home, learn about the decluttering challenges you're facing, and share with you how I can help you in Unjumbled.

Your best defense against paper clutter might be right outside your front door. 📬

When you bring in the mail, don't automatically bring all of it into your home.

Take a quick look before you walk inside. Junk mail? Advertising? Flyers you already know you won't read?

Mailbox → recycling bin.

Done! 🙌🏼

That paper never gets a chance to land on the kitchen counter, migrate to the dining room table, or become part of that pile you'll deal with "later."

Of course, junk mail is only the beginning. If you're overwhelmed by mail, paperwork, old records, statements, magazines—or those mysterious piles of paper that seem to multiply overnight—I have LOTS more strategies to help you get it under control.

If your whole house feels cluttered, please don't try to declutter your whole house. 💖

That's a great way to get overwhelmed before you even begin!

Instead, pick ONE small space. A single drawer. One shelf. The top of your nightstand. A small section of your closet.

Then focus only on that space.

You don't need to know how you're going to tackle the basement, the garage, the spare bedroom AND the kitchen. You just need to know where to start.

And if even THAT decision has you stuck, I can help. Sometimes having someone look at your situation with fresh eyes and say, “Start here” is exactly what you need to get moving.

One small space. That's enough for today. 🌷

📦 Monica found this note buried in a DOOM box.

(You know what DOOM boxes are . . . Didn't Organize, Only Moved)

She'd written it during one of my decluttering webinars—before she and I started working together inside Unjumbled.

Back then, she was trying to figure out how to declutter and make it stick.

Today? She doesn't need the note anymore.

She understands her Today You. She knows what to do. She has accountability and encouragement inside Unjumbled.

And perhaps best of all? She's actually going through those DOOM boxes! 🙌

Are you?

If you've got boxes you've been meaning to deal with for months—or years—we should talk. 💖

Drop CHAT in the comments and I'll send you a link to book time for us to talk. I'd love to hear what's going on in your home, learn about the decluttering challenges you're facing, and share how I can help you move forward with confidence, encouragement, and support inside Unjumbled. I'll be there with you every step of the way.

Pssst . . . if you're wondering what Monica's note says:

S – Space Insight: What is this space for, and what can it comfortably hold?
T – Today You: What fits the life you're living now?
A – Align & Achieve: Make a plan that works for you.
C – Clutter Cleared: Let go of what no longer belongs.
K – Keepin' It Great: Keep clutter from creeping back in.

👗 Does your closet reflect Today You?

Maybe it's filled with clothes from a career you've retired from, a size you haven't worn in years, or a lifestyle that simply isn't yours anymore.

Those clothes aren't necessarily bad clothes. They may have served Yesterday You beautifully.

But every hanger they occupy is space that isn't available for the woman you are TODAY.

Imagine opening your closet and seeing clothes that fit your body, your lifestyle, and the life you're actually living. No guilt. No "someday." Just choices that work for you now.

That's what Today You—the T in my STACK method of decluttering—is all about. 💖

💭 Sometimes you need to tell yourself a new story about donating.

Maybe the old story sounds like this:

"If I give this to a thrift store, no one will appreciate it."

So you start searching for the perfect recipient or the perfect organization. Before you know it, letting go of one item has turned into a project—and it's still sitting in your house.

Try a different story.

"This was useful to me once. Now I'm releasing it so it has the chance to be useful to someone else."

You don't have to know who receives it. You don't have to know how much they'll appreciate it. And you don't have to make donating difficult for your gift to have value.

Sometimes the best way to honor an item is simply to let it go and let it bless someone else. 💖

When's the last time you made an angel food cake? 🎂

How about a Bundt cake?

If you're thinking, "Ummm...1997?" 😂 it might be time to take another look at those pans.

Maybe Yesterday You baked elaborate cakes for birthdays, church dinners, and family gatherings. But Today You buys the cake, makes something simpler, or would rather spend her afternoon doing something else entirely.

Your kitchen should support the way you cook and live TODAY—not the way you cooked 20 or 30 years ago.

So open those cabinets and ask yourself: "If I didn't already own this, would Today Me go out and buy it?"

If the answer is no, perhaps it's ready to bless someone else's kitchen. 💖

You know one thing I didn't pack for vacation? 🤔

Guilt about the house I left behind. 🧳💖

I didn't spend the first day of vacation thinking about piles waiting for me at home.

And when vacation was over, I didn't dread opening my own front door.

I came home to a home I was happy to come home to.

I want that for you.

Your home shouldn't be something you need a vacation from. And coming home shouldn't immediately bring back the stress, guilt, and overwhelm you finally escaped for a few days.

Imagine walking through your front door after a wonderful trip and thinking...

"Ahhhh. I'm home."

Not because your home is perfect.

Because it feels peaceful, manageable, and good to live in.

A sink full of dirty dishes can make you feel defeated before you even start. 🍽️

And when the counters are covered too? It's tempting to think, "I don't have time to deal with ALL of this today!"

Good news—you don't have to.

In this reel, I'm sharing a simple plan that tackles two things at the same time: you start building the habit of taking care of today's dirty dishes today, while gradually working your way through the backlog that's been piling up.

No marathon dishwashing session required.

Follow the plan, and in about a week and a half, you could have the backlog gone AND a new daily habit taking its place. 🙌🏼

That's how lasting change often happens—not by fixing everything in one exhausting burst, but by taking manageable steps that move you forward every day.

Decluttering photos feels completely different than decluttering a kitchen drawer. 📸

You're not just holding a spatula.

You're holding Mom's smile. Your children's childhoods. That vacation you still talk about. The house you grew up in. People you love who aren't here anymore. 💖

So no, I'm not going to tell you to dump every photo on the floor and start tossing!

But you also don't need to keep every blurry picture, every duplicate, every landscape you can't identify, or six nearly identical shots to preserve your family's story.

Your goal isn't to get rid of your memories.

It's to choose the photos that tell those memories best—so the truly meaningful ones aren't buried among hundreds (or thousands!) that don't matter nearly as much.

That's broad advice, of course. Your photos, your memories, and your circumstances are uniquely yours.
